Home Lost to Fire - Demo Needed
Donation protected
On Saturday, February 13th, my father's trailer caught fire and burned down. He was awoken from his sleep to the smell of smoke. When he left his room, he saw his entire living room and kitchen were consumed in flames. Thankfully, he made it out of the sliding glass door before the fire made it to his room.
Unfortunately, my father did not have homeowners insurance and has to cover the cost of demolition for the remaining pieces of the trailer.

Thanks to friends, family, and the Red Cross, my dad was able to purchase necessities, receive clothing donations and find short term lodging!
We are hoping with the help from this gofundme to be able to cover the cost of the demolition so that my dad may be able to move forward and start new somewhere else. Any amount helps!
My dad and family would be extremely grateful for any support offered in a time when we can't cover the cost ourselves. Below you can see a few images I captured while trying to salvage any items that might be intact.
The trailer park informed us the cost of Demolition will be $6000 and there will be an additional fee to remove the larger debris from the shed he has next to the trailer. That amount is unknown so we're just estimating $500. Any remaining funds, though unlikely, would be used to replace a few items my father lost to the fire.
My dad is a US Army Veteran serving from 1972 - 1975. After, he became a civil servant working for the US Post Office for 40 years. After retiring he was quite proud to own his trailer!
The above photo was the living room and kitchen, the far back end that is dark is my dads bedroom.

Thank you so incredibly much for taking the time to consider this fundraiser! My dad is retired and was fully expecting to never leave this trailer. It was his home as well as mine and my brother's for years. Many memories and sentimental items from our and our fathers childhood were lost. At the end of the day belongings are replaceable and our father is not. Eternally grateful he made it out in time!
