Those of you who know the Hollands probably already know that Derrick has been in the hospital with pneumonia since early May 2018. 
Derrick is a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, coach, and friend who is committed bringing joy and positivity to everyone around him. He works three jobs to support his family. He spends his days as public school special ed teacher, his evenings at the dojo as a kajukenbo instructor, and some late nights working security at a night club. He is always on the move, always has a smile or laughter to share, and is always ready to talk music and sports.
Derrick and his wife Krystal have been together since 1998. They have two children who Krystal takes care of full-time.
Since Derrick has been in the hospital, he has run out of sick days. Krystal has been holding vigil at Derrick's bedside, and their parents have been helping, but it is a struggle to figure out how the operational costs of living for the rest of the family will be covered.
