Holistically Toned Mobile Treatment Room

I'm Toni of Holistically Toned, and I want to thank you so much for your support!
Holistically Toned was formed in 2020, as a wellness practice that facilitates healing of the mind, body and soul through three pillars: Massage, Movement and Mindfulness.
I began working in health and fitness as a certified Zumba Instructor and later became a certified Personal Trainer, certified Physical Therapy Aide and Licensed Massage Therapist as my passion to serve the underserved in the healthcare industry grew. I imagined opening a three-story wellness facility with a gym, spa, quick health food store and an outdoor sanctuary. A big task for anyone, but I had no idea how I was going to get there as a newly graduated massage therapy student.

I worked for chiropractors, physical therapists, in clients' homes and in gyms until I could afford to rent a room from another like-minded small business owner.
Growing my practice in a shared space, in an area where money is spent on appearance before health was often frustrating, to say the least, and performing bodywork in both my and my client's homes helped me realize the importance of accessibility, comfort and safety when both receiving and performing bodywork. I had to find a way to work in an environment that both serves my needs as a professional and offers the wellness experience I want for my clients. This led me to research more creative ways to go mobile.

After months of research, I considered every kind of cargo van and trailer on the market and no existing vessel would provide enough working space while also being lightweight enough for me to tow with a vehicle I felt comfortable driving.
My solution was to buy a Chevy Colorado and find a manufacturer willing and able to build a lightweight 8x20x8 cargo trailer that would be built out as my fully mobile treatment room!

In December 2021 I was living on my own in Riverside trying to figure out how I was going to grow in an area I loved but could barely afford, both as a small business owner and resident.
I applied for every business loan I could find, met with every manufacturer in my area and anyone that could take on my project immediately quoted me at least $32,000 dollars and my one-woman show didn't qualify for any of the loans I found. The more affordable manufacturers said they wouldn't be able to take on that kind of project for at least 6 months and every dealership I went to didn't even have Chevy Colorados in stock. It seemed I had the vision but was still no closer to the execution of it than I was the year before.
The new year came and after my father passed in January I had given up hope until March 2022 when things started to shift. A client of mine called with the name and number of a manufacturer that was ready and able to build the shell of my trailer for $24,000 and knew someone who later approved Holistically Toned to purchase the Chevy of my dreams! I sold my car, took a leap of faith and applied for a personal loan to start construction on the trailer and got approved! The shell was finished in June and it's been quite the ride but things are happening! and I am so grateful to everyone who is making this possible. Thank you!
