Hob's Medical Fund

Hello Friends, Family & KindHumans Alike,

Many of you know how kind spirited, charismatic, and full of life my dearest friend Chantal Martin is. She is spunky that one!  And no doubt much of that spunk is genetic.  For those who have had the privilege to meet her dear mum Glenda, or “Hob”, as most of us know her by, know what I mean!!  While here visiting and helping to plan Chantal & Brooks' wedding… Hob found a lump, in her breast, and went to check it out at the doctors.  On the Thursday before Independence Day she received a call from the radiologist letting her know that the biopsy results indicated cancer.  With the long Holiday weekend ahead of them they managed their stress the best they could and on Monday they were able to get a doctor’s appointment to find out what these results mean.  Unfortunately, Hob will need to undergo both surgery and Chemotherapy.  This is not only scary and unplanned, but with no insurance the surgery and treatments will be out of pocket for this small family.  The doctor recommends having the surgery as soon as possible.  Hob’s plan up until a few days ago was to return to South Africa this Friday (plane ticket already purchased and all).  Now she will be staying and having the surgery here, then, if strong enough to travel, will return home to begin Chemo.  It is with disbelief and a heavy heart I ask all of you to support Hob, Chantal, and her new husband Brooks in any way you see fit.  Prayers, love, hugs (both actual and virtual hugs accepted), financial assistance, and words of encouragement  are all greatly appreciated.
