We are Historia Normannis Hereford —

A passionate and growing group of historical reenactors bringing the Norman to Plantagenet era (1135–1215) to life.

Historia Normannis Hereford was founded in 2013 and since then, have met weekly to prepare for the show season where we perform at a range of events across Great Britain. We have helped bring the twelfth century to life at castles such as Kenilworth, Carisbrooke and Carew as well as at local events such as Bastille Day in Reading and Hereford’s very own Games and Comic Con.

Our ranks include not just armoured warriors, but skilled artisans: leatherworkers, blacksmiths, tailors, bowyers, and woodworkers, all dedicated to recreating medieval life with authenticity, detail, and passion. We aim to engage, educate and entertain.

However, as our community grows, so does our kit — and unfortunately we are running out of space to store our weapons, tents, tools, and costumes. Currently our gear is stored across multiple homes, which risks it being misplaced or damaged as it is regularly transported between members for training and events.

Why We Need Your Help:

We're raising funds to rent a local and secure storage unit that will:

Safely store our group’s collection of hand-crafted kit and equipment

Allow Hereford to expand our communal kit so we can continue to support new members who would like to try out Medieval re-enactment

Help us stay organised and prepared for re-enactment, community and educational events by collating everything in one easily accessible location

Keep our homes from being overrun by medieval paraphernalia.

We’re a not-for-profit group, and every penny raised through GoFundMe will go directly to funding storage for the group.

Our Fundraising Challenge:

To raise awareness and hopefully a few eyebrows, we’ll be climbing the local mountain, Lord Hereford’s Knob/Twmpa, in full, authentic medieval kit. This march will be led by our very own Benedict dela Ware, Lord of Hereford, with our members representing a spectrum of medieval figures such as soldiers, merchants and serfs. We shall be dressed in medieval garb and some of us will be in maille armour!

We will carry the Hereford Historia Normannis banner to the summit and claim it in true Norman style!
