Thank you for visiting our fundraising page for Highbridge Islamic Center (HBIC). As you may or may not know , HBIC started off as Masjid Deyaue in an apartment in the late 1980s. When our elders first arrived , they used a bedroom in an apartment as masjid deyaue. A few years later they were able to rent a basement of an apartment building. In this space , children from all over the Highbridge community and the rest of the Bronx would come Learn Arabic and Quran under the direction of Imam/ Dr. Moussa Wague. Other teachers who contributed many years to this mosque included Sheick Omar Drame and Oustaz Haji Danso (May Allah have mercy on him) and many others , May Allah reward them All.

In 2010, the mosque with the help of the community purchased a house on Plimpton ave for $500,000 however with the growing community, we must now expand. Our plan , with the help of Allah , is to add two floors, or purchase the home next door which would allow for a youth center and extra praying space. Please donate generously

Currently , HBIC has classes for men , women’s classes on weekdays , children’s classes on weekends and working towards a tahfiz/memorization class for kids on weekdays. The mosque also offers immigration assistance , and letters of recommendation for our members.
