On December 23rd, the Hendricks family lost a loving father, husband, son and friend to all. Many will remember Jody Hendricks for his love of Horror and his outfits that he created, but he was much more that just what people saw on the outside.
In May 2015 Jody was diagnosed with an agressive form of skin cancer. Over the next couple months, it spread to his lymph nodes, lungs and finally to his brain.
An unfortunate, but realistic side effect of cancer is loss of job, loss of income, increase in medical bills and a struggle for the family who is in the process of understanding what is going on and ultimately grieving over the loss of a family member. Because this happened in a matter of months, the Hendricks family has had limited time to process and plan. The last thing they need to worry about right now is the finances.
Our goal is to help Laura, Megan and Miranda through this challenging time. Laura has been a constant and never-wavering support to Action Karate. She spends every day at the karate school, taking care of the students as well as their families. She is the first person to step up when anybody she knows needs help. It is our turn to return the favor. We need to come together as family and friends to help them through the struggle.
