Help our Mountains Recover from Hurricane Helene
Tax deductible
On the evening of September 26th, 2024 Hurricane Helene made landfall as a category 4 Hurricane in Florida's Big Bend region and continued on through Georgia, The Western Carolinas.
Torrential downpours from the remnants of Hurricane Helene unleashed a relentless wave of rain over three agonizing days, causing catastrophic flooding and heartbreaking destruction across our beloved Mountains and southern Foothills.
For the people of western North Carolina, it was a nightmare scenario. An unending tide of tropical moisture, amplified by its high terrain, resulted in staggering rainfall totals. Entire Communities were submerged, some are gone, rivers swelled dangerously, and families faced unimaginable loss. The devastation has left a deep scar on the WNC region, and the road to recovery will be long and arduous.
At this time, people are still waiting to be rescued. Food and water are running out for many. The situation is dire and people are in great need.
For me personally, I wanted to find a way to help NOW. Hendersonville and Western North Carolina have been a home away from and my families thin place since I was very young. This is a community I love dearly, filled with so many incredible humans. They need our help.
I am working DIRECTLY with St. James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville North Carolina to raise as much money as we can to aid the victims, IMMEDIATELY!!! 100% of the proceeds collected will be sent immediately to St. James Episcopal Church where they will then utilize the funds to purchase food, first aid, and the bare necessities to take care of their entire community.
Won’t you join me in supporting our friends in WNC?
It is OK if you are unable to donate, I ask that you please "share" this post with your community!
Additionally, there is an Amazon Wish List that is also an excellent way to help by purchasing these much needed items. They are being sent directly to the Church and they will then distribute to the community as they also work with local shelters! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2PPYVR49BSL31?ref_=wl_share
