Ziggy the Tri-Pawd
Ziggy joined our family only a few weeks ago, but has already made a life-long impact on us all. Anyone who has met him, could see how sweet and gentle and loving he is to our two young daughters.
Unfortunately Ziggy had a devastating interaction with a dog under a fence and suffered catastrophic injuries. The Emergency Vet and the Surgeons tried all they could to save his front leg, but the injuries were too severe. Ziggy will need to have his front leg amputated August 10th.
Fortunately, the Drs. are hopeful he will make a full recovery and return to being his happy, loving puppy self. His young age makes him a good candidate for amputation and recovery. Unfortunately, due to his large breed he will likely grow to be over 100 lbs and the remaining limbs will have to bare the weight that should be distributed four ways. This will likely leave him with painful arthritis and ultimately may need a prosthetic leg.
The cost of this has been far more than just monetary. This has been a traumatic experience for us all. The financial burden, however has been great so far, with only more financial expenses to come in the future as he recovers, goes through therapy and hopefully receives a prosthetic.
We truly appreciate any financial help we can receive and gladly accept all prayers for a speedy recovery of our Ziggy.
This benefit is for Lucas Butler and his wife Corbyn Dach-Butler
