HelpVicky fight cancer!

Hi my name is Keily I am making this page to help raise money for my mum to get the treatment she needs to help fight her rare  liver cancer…

As I’m sure lots of you know mum has always been a fun, healthy, happy person, loves her clothes, make up, friends, holidays and especially putting her roof down in her car! So it come as a shock to us when in august she returned from holiday with her friend with pains in her stomach, which being typical mum she thought came from falling off the bucking bronco in bendiorm, after a few days of us all laughing at how crazy she is the pain was still there, so she went to the GP to be told she needed to go to the hospital so off she went Epsom general hospital had some tests and was sent home to wait for results, a few days later we found out she had a blood clot in her liver with a mass she was sent home with Fragmin and antibiotics, a few days later she was still in pain so went back to Epsom a and e, after a long 8 hour wait she could no longer sit in pain so her and dad left, in the mean time we started to receive appointments for scans, blood tests etc. Still in a lot of pain they then went to St helier hospital A and E via an ambulance who left her sitting in a waiting room for 7 hours, they would not let mum sit in the car to wait as the waiting room was packed and she could not sit up due to the pain, therefore my dad had no option but to bring her home to bed. They made a emergency appointment with her GP first thing the next morning, the GP told us to take mum straight to St geroges hospital in Tooting where she was very quickly seen and treated for her pain, they kept her in for 10 days put her on a intravenous drip of antibiotics, fragmin and morphine, whilst in hospital mum caught Sepsis and c/dif, mum was very ill and in a lot of pain still, people was not allowed to come in and out to see her and she was kept in a very hot room alone. A biopsy was done and she was sent home, they forgot to give her fragmin for the blood clot then we received a phone call to say her bloods had come back and show a clot in her lungs we was to go back asap and get fragmin which she is still on to date. Whilst we waited for the results, after a long 2 weeks waiting we received a phone call to confirm mum had cholangiocarcinoma a rare cancer in the liver which is attached to both sides of the bile ducts and inoperable. The hospital informed us they was not a liver cancer specialist hospital and there was a fairly long wait to see a consultant so they would be happy to transfer us to the Royal Marden hospital in Sutton if we found a consultant that we would like them to send her referral to, after a long search we found someone and was referred, A few weeks later we finally got a appointment to see someone to discuss the cancer, at this point they told us they hadn't had a chance to meet with St Georges and discuss mums case so there was little they could tell us with that treatment she would receive, they did tell us the plan they would likely take is to start Chemo but because of the size of the tumour (10 cm) and the location they would be unable to operate (both sides of the bile duct).

yesterday mum had a meeting at the Marsden which mum and dad thought was to discuss when the treatment was going to start, only to get there and be told the cancer has spread to her chest, they can start the chemo in 2 weeks time but even so the longest they have predicted someone with this cancer to live is a maximum of 13 months.

we have managed to find a professor who initially works privately from London university hospital and is a specialist in cholangiocarcinoma, his reviews are amazing he has accepted us privately our first meeting is on Thursday we will then be put forward for more tests to see how rapidly the cancer has grown, if the clinical trial works it will be amazing and hopefully the cancer will shrink enough for mum to have it removed at kings college. Im hoping to help raise enough money to help pay for this treatment. As many of you know dad owns a building company which he has now had to temporarily close to care for mum.
Thank you for taking the time to read and really hope some of you guys are able to help just a little!
