Help with the aftermath of truck running into our home
Donation protected
I am not someone who asks for help. I'm very proud to be so incredibly independent. But I need help. Do many friends have mentioned creating this and ugh. I am hesitant.
In 2023, Danielle's dad suddenly passed away, leaving me and only parent.
I managed to buy a home about 6 months later.
I have worked to make this house a home. I have worked hard to make sure my child is stable and secure. I have no family on my side, or her late father's.
August 11th, 2025 was a normal Monday. Until about 7pm when my house shook and what sounded like an explosion. I look outside, and I see a truck under where I'd been sitting on my couch! Thankfully, the driver was ok and walked away. His truck was towed and thankfully the fire department deemed my house safe to stay, but we cannot use our living room. Driver was not intoxicated, and faces no repercussions, other than a ticket for losing control of his vehicle.
I immediately called both my homeowners and his insurance company to start claims.
Long story short, he had insurance through a different company and a very small policy. Since he had damaged someone's vehicle, prior to my house, that small policy limit isn't going to cover them and my home. So I have to file via my homeowners and take the hit. It's unfortunate and I've already spoken to a few lawyers and they've advised me there's really nothing that I can do.
I have to pay a $1000 deductible.
I'm so far behind on a couple of bills, including my power bill which has skyrocketed. Despite keeping my home at a 78 degree temp. The humidity inside is unbearable. I have applied for every possible loan with my bank. I have no idea what I am going to do, so I am taking a chance with go fund me at the request of a few close friends.
I'm embarrassed, and ashamed to even be on here. I just don't have any other option.
I have pay pal as well as cash app if those are easier as well.

Anything I ask for, will be going to the deductible cost first. I have a contractor already, who is been so great stepping up to help work with my insurance company and myself. The rest would go to my power bill and my water as I have a slight leak, but since we're still living here, I cannot have my water shut off.
Thank you for reading. Anything helps, even just a share.
