I’m a single mother, like so many others barely staying afloat in today’s economy. Despite all my hard work, living paycheck to paycheck left us with no safety net, and when car troubles, illness, unexpected large bills, and a major housing crisis hit us, I've found myself more financially insecure than I've ever been in my life. This campaign has helped us stay afloat during this incredibly difficult time, however even with this support, I have still fallen short and I am desperately trying to find some financial stability.

Now that we have done the hard work of securing a home and new employment, I am working to bounce back and out of this hole the housing crisis left us in. At current I owe my previous landlord $3100 for back rent. I owe a family member $1800 that ended up being needed to move into our current place. And despite all my hard work, my income this month has barely covered everything we needed to pay. I also got hit with tuition payments for my daughter's school that I was not in a position to really pay but had to in order to keep my daughter in her school.

I am looking for support in just making sure rent and bills get paid for February without leaving us in an even deeper hole than we were in. An additional $1500 would go a long way in keeping us housed and give me an opportunity to gain some financial footing. Our current home keeps us within walking distance of my autistic daughter’s specialized school, allowing her to graduate with the stability she desperately needs. So it is our goal to remain in good standing with our current landlord by making sure rent is paid in full and on time.
