help a black queer teen establish stable housing
It’s taken me a long time to admit this to myself and others, but I desperately need help escaping my abusive household.
The first time I was kicked out was in February when my mother found out I was queer. I’ve had to live with a friend for the past 8 months, but due to their complicated living environment, and my depression and anxiety worsening and going untreated, I had to move back in with my mom.
It’s only been two weeks since I’ve moved in and started going to therapy again. Already, the verbal abuse has started again causing me to experience even more frequent anxiety attacks. The night of this gofundme being created, I decided to take a walk for in my backyard (for my anxiety) and my mother was aware of this. When I came back, she was laying by the door waiting to confront me. The altercation started verbally, with her barricading the door, repeatedly telling me I wasn’t welcomed in the house. It ended in a violent physical altercation, with my belongings being moved to the couch in the living room, and my mother telling me that I had to leave and find somewhere else to go.
I cannot stay in this house, for the sake of my mental health, and my mother has made it very clear that I need to leave.
I’m asking for financial aid to help me relocate to HTX with a trusted friend and rebuild my life. This money would go towards contributing to rent/buying food/transportation/paying for my driver’s license lessons. Anything helps and any amount is appreciated.
