Help support baby Finnley

Donation protected
Friends & Family,

Last Wednesday, March 26th, Finnley was rushed to our local hospital struggling with respiratory distress. By the next day, his condition was serious enough that doctors made the urgent decision to airlift him to Children’s Hospital in Denver for specialized care. Taylor and Marcus dropped everything, leaving their three other kids with loved ones to be by Finnley’s side, a choice that weighs heavy on their hearts.
As of today, March 30th, Finnley is still at Childrens facing the possibility of intubation & sedation if his condition does not improve.
No family should have to face a crisis like this alone—especially when the financial burden of medical bills, travel, and time away from work starts to pile up. That’s why I’ve started this GoFundMe: to ease the weight of those worries so they can focus on what matters most—Finnley’s recovery.
Thank you for reading and considering a donation—any amount helps. If you can’t give, a share means the world. Together, we can lift this family up and support Finnley’s fight."

Finnley update 4/2 :

Our sweet boy is feeling & doing so much better! Yesterday they were able to wean him down to 4 liters and he maintained it very well! He is eating as normal and is playing, flirting with staff & stealing hearts as he usual does. So with that we have officially been escorted out of PICU!

We are now on a general floor & will continue to wean his oxygen down at his pace of course. Crossing all our fingers & toes for only another 24 to 48 hours here and then we can go home!

Thank you everyone for all your prayers and well wishes, good thoughts & healthy vibes. They have helped so much

I think it's safe to say we are finally moving upward!

Finnley has definitely started to feel better and has been acting more himself. We even got smiles & giggles! Yesterday he decided to pull his NG tube out and has been trying to pull on everything else he's attached to so we had to break out the toys to keep his hands busy as best as possible with his arm boards. He been able to be on high flow for 24 hours straight. This means he has been able to nurse well so he currently isn't receiving fluids any more and is doing a good job on circulating his air without the need of so much pressure to keep his little airways open. Over night we were able to go from 12 liters to 10 and hopefully we will be able to continue to wean down today. The goal today is to get him down to 8 liters or less and see him keep his saturation up along with low respiratory rate & a regular heart rate. If we can get to 8 or lower & him sustain that well for the day/night then we can move out of ICU to the regular Peds floor. We probably have a few more days here at best which will put us at over a week in the hospital. Marcus & I are missing all our other kiddos so much and we can't wait till we can all be together again!

Yesterday they were able to take him off the AVAP for most of the day and and he was able to be on heated high flow. He got to nurse several times and was awake more we got more snuggles in.

But late last night his respiratory rate got to high and they had to put him back on the AVAPs they said that they expected that to happen during deep sleep. Because his heart rate slows and he starts to breathe faster.

Today's plan is to get him back on high flow and see how he tolerates it again and hopefully get to be on it most the day again. This was he can nurse again. We may have to go back to AVAPs with high flow breaks to nurse if he can't tolerate high flow consistently.

It feels like a lot of yo-yoing but hopefully we are still continuing to move forward.

Also Grandma flew in from California to be with us and hopefully some Grandma snuggles will help perk him up.

Please keep surround him with all the love, thoughts & prayers.

He started to take a turn for worse yesterday afternoon. He developed an ear infection and was very restless and uncomfortable so he wasnt sleeping and was fighting against the AVAP making his little body work to hard. We were having to discuss possible intubation & sedation.

They did a chest x-ray and his belly was pretty filled with air from the AVAP so his lungs weren't able to fully expand. They inserted a Sump NG tube to help pump out all the air. The combination of that plus a dose of antibiotics & Tylenol seemed to make him more comfortable. He was able to sleep better last night so he wasnt fighting the AVAP and started to look better through the night. So we are holding off on intubation & sedation for now.

The goal for today is that Hopefully he will continue to sleep and rest and let the AVAP do it's job. If that goes well we can talk about him getting to take a break from AVAP on high flow. He will probably get a NG tube for feedings placed today.

We appreciate all the prayers & love we received. Please continue to keep Finnley in your thoughts and prayers.

We are missing all of our other kiddos so much. My mama heart definitely is in a million peices right now.

We are making baby steps forward but gosh it feels like leaps compared to yesterday. He has been responding well with the AVAP so we tried to go step down to high flow at 10 liters for a while today. He was doing pretty good with great O2 sat of 94 and up & a good resp rate of 40's -50's. He was also able to nurse for the first time in almost 2 days. But his little body is still tired and started to work to hard and his heart rate started to get too high so we decided he needs a little longer on AVAP.

While it may feel like no progress it's so much better than where we were yesterday. Before being transported he was on 15 liters of high flow with 02 sat still in the 70's and 80's and respiratory rate in the 80's & 90's. So we made lots of progress and we still have lots to go. Hopefully he will be able to sleep better tonight and his little body can continue to rest and recover. Also we are getting all the snuggles we can today ❤️❤️

We have a great team over here and are so thankful for their hard work to take care of our boy.

Thank you all for praying for Finnley, for us and for his medical team.

It's been a long & restless night for all of us but especially Finn. He is pretty uncomfortable and having a hard time settling and sleeping.
He's responding well to APAP and we will see what the day brings.
Thank you everyone who has prayed for us and offered support is so many ways. We feel all your love and we can't thank you enough for loving our little guy.
