Update:
Stephanie was finally discharged from the hospital on January 25th, after 25 days and was finally able to get home to her family. Her journey is far from over as Stephanie's health is still fragile, requiring months of continued treatment and rehabilitation. Such as physio, OT, IV therapies, weekly ultrasounds, blood tests and ekg's, GI scope's, colonoscopys, specalists, thoracic surgery, some of which require travel.
Please help support her and her family while she is unable to work, and recovering to her full self. The financial stress is growing and any help would make a significant different to their family.
I Encourage you to read her story & updates here:

This year started off with a bang alright. On January 01, My friend Stephanie woke up sick and quickly started vomiting blood. She was rushed to Surrey Memorial Hospital, and has been in the ICU ever since.
Stephanie's conditions are still uncertain and has been touch and go. Her children, puppy and partner were here visiting Surrey with her, and they have been pooling all their resources to try and keep the family together in the lower-mainland while she is here, which has become impossible. Her children are very distressed at the idea of going home without mom and unfortunately, options are running out.
As they weren't expecting this long of a stay, they have been taking it day by day, with the kids alternating between friends houses, Tim between friends and the hospital, and their dog between sitters.
Stephanie and Tim live in Williams Lake, and expected to be home and back to work already. If not enough, this could not have come at a worse time. Tim was laid off right before Christmas, Stephanie was on a 2 week, unpaid medical leave, the cost of the holidays, and they had to repair their water heater a day after being admitted as it stopped working, and they have a tenant in their basement.
Stephanie will be in the hospital for an indeterminate amount of time, and cannot transfer to a local hospital due to the severity and instability of her health. Please help to keep this family together.
All funds donated are greatly appreciated and will be used for accommodations and living expenses to keep the family together, and to reduce the financial burden of life during her recovery and absence from work.
Stephanie has always been a hard working, persevering mom and partner, and this is so hard for her to just lay in a hospital bed, getting poked and tested all day with no end in site, and no way to take care of her family. She would never ask for this, but hopefully with a little help we can provide her with some relief and help her family financially while she figures out and recovers from this illness ♡
