I’m making this go fund me as a few friends and family from afar are asking how they can help: this is it. Here we go:

Yesterday, our family’s apartment was devastated by a fire. A freak accident when a battery pack exploded and started a fire. The smoke; and water damage have made everything unsafe—black smoke covered the entire suite, and stagnant water now sits throughout the home. The entire apartment, from the roof; walls and floors, will need to be rebuilt.

We’re a family of four (plus our cat). We have 2 young kids and have suddenly found ourselves displaced for over a month(could be much longer). Right now, we’re facing three immediate financial burdens:

• $1,000 insurance deductible that must be paid before any help replacing contents or having a place to stay

• $1,500+ in hotel/motel costs for the month, which we have to pay upfront before being reimbursed—something we simply cannot afford out of pocket

We’re doing everything we can to hold it together for our kids, but the truth is, we need help. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward covering our deductible and temporary housing so our family has a safe place to stay while we wait to return home.
