Help for Anna's Family Needs

Greeting,

My name is Zoraida some of you may know me as Zory. I'm here wholeheartedly asking for your help!

My sister, Anna  (30 years old), has been hospitalized at Inova (Fair Oaks and Fairfax Hospitals) since 10/11/2018.

She was admitted at Fair Oaks hospital due to a gallbladder attack. At the time she was 22 weeks pregnant with out little angel Avery. During her stay at Fair Oaks Hospital she had the ERCP Procedure to removed stone blockage in bile duct and placed a stent. This procedure complicated her health tremendously. Anna had to be transferred to Fairfax Hospital on 10/15/2018 due to high risk pregnancy, and developed pancreatitis due to ERCP.

Her baby shower was scheduled for 10/14/2018 which we postponed, little did we know that Anna would go into labor unexpectedly on 10/18/2018. Baby Avery was born at 23 weeks - 1lb. 2 oz. Her little hands and feet as you can see in the image are a miracle of its own.

Anna remained in ICU Unit for 3 weeks due to severe acute pancreatitis; extremely elevated heart rate, high fevers, high white blood count/ low red blood count, requiring multiple blood transfusions.
We all prayed and hoped for her symptoms to be resolved or minimize now that she had delivered safely but things did not seem to stabilize quickly, rather it's been a roller coaster of events.

Baby Avery has been in NICU, she'd been extremely brave and had been progressing well. Soon after a  PDA-patent ductus arteriosus was discovered.  Doctor surgically placed a clip to close the artery in her heart, given steroid to help develop lungs. Baby Avery has been as brave as her mom, enduring such procedures but continues to strive. Avery is doing well, with minimal ventilation and current weight 2 lb. 4 oz.

Anna has had minimal time to really enjoy her newborn due to having discovered a fungal infection which inflamed her abdomen due to fluid pockets, and fluid cyst in pancreas. Her intestines compressed by inflammation, developed BAM - bile absorption malfunction and has to be on constant gastric suction to remove bile build up her stomach.

On 11/05/2018 she was downgraded to Intermediate Care Unit with a dedicated surgical team for Pancreatitis. On 11/13/2018 a paracentesis procedure was performed in which they placed two drains in her abdomen and one in pancreas to remove fluid. She continues to be on IV fluids and nutrition. She has not been able to eat/ingest any solid nor liquids since admitted in October (yes, no soup, no jello, NOTHING. Even drinking water cause excruciating pain).  The pain that she has endured is simply unimaginable.

She simply hasn't had a break, on 11/30/2018 they went in again to place larger G-tube & J-tube procedure; Gastro (g) tube placed to drain stomach fluids and the jejunal (J) tube to the small intestine to provide nutritional fluids - This is the 4th drain in her body.

Most recently (12/3/2018) doctors advised that Anna is still looking at 4-6 more weeks for pancreas and stomach to fully recover.

Her health is very fragile and the worries of non-stop bills, loosing  the place she calls home, going back to taking care of her kids  and family  needs take a great toll on her as well and that should be the last on anyone's worries. I'm here asking wholeheartedly for you support during this very difficult time in this family's life. Anna has been an exemplary mother, sister, aunt, friend. She's always worked very hard to provide for her family and has even helped others in time of need.  She deserved to heal without having to worry if she will have a home to go or thousands of dollars in debt.

Just a brief background of what she is already facing... Prior to her being admitted she had purchased a vehicle from a local dealer, transmission went out and would cost $2500 to replace parts. She was just about to finished paying loan.  Her fiance's vehicle was repossessed while in hospital as they lost her income since there is no disability coverage while in hospital to replace income. Several local agencies were contacted to inquire about rent assistance but some gave the runaround while others like PW County do not provide help to individuals who rent living spaces such as basement apartments/rooms, etc. Her mother Maria Blanco has been staying with her day in day out, she's very fortunate to have an employer that is understanding but the cost of parking at facility every day, meals, gas, etc. have been overwhelming.

Anything, anything you can do for this family will be greatly appreciated! We ask that you touch your heart via your contributions and  keep her entire family in your prayers.

In Christ,
