Hi all, my name is Abby and this is my sweet dog, Milo. I adopted Milo when he was just a puppy and he is 8 years old now. He is a big cuddle bug who loves to adventure and find new places to have the zoomies ☺️
At the end of last year Milo was suddenly unsteady on his feet and appeared to be in a lot of pain. I took him to the ER vet which led us to getting an MRI with a neurologist. The imaging revealed multiple herniated disks (C4-7). The site seemingly causing his pain and symptoms was the C6-7 slot so Milo underwent a decompression surgery on January 3rd. It wasn’t recommended to do surgery on more than once consecutive disks at a time due to the risk of destabilization, which unfortunately leaves the risk of another disk causing issues in the future.
Milo was progressing well in his recovery but the last week of February Milo began showing similar symptoms. We went back to the neurologist where the MRI showed worsening of the C4-5 herniation compared to the prior MRI. It also showed that the surgery on the C6-7 slot was successful (yay!). A second surgery was preformed on the C4-5 slot on February 26th and spinal fluid was taken to test for any underlying factors to this. We are hopeful this surgery fixed the root cause of his pain and he can be on his road to recovery! Thank you to everyone who has supported us emotionally or financially during this time.
This has been pretty pricy and has totaled over $20,000.. Any donations are greatly appreciated! Please considering sharing this GoFundMe if you feel comfortable, thank you for reading and being here to support Milo
