Mijn naam is Manuel en met pijn in mijn hart schrijf ik dit. We moeten iets doen wat eigenlijk ondenkbaar voelt: hulp vragen.. Nooit gedacht dat ik een crowdfunding zou moeten beginnen maar het is helaas de realiteit en hieronder volgt ons verhaal..
Mijn moeder een sterke, spontane, liefdevolle, behulpzame en sociale goedlachse vrouw en het kloppende hart van ons gezin, is ernstig ziek.
Mijn moeder is geboren met een zeer zeldzaam vaatsyndroom en heeft daarbij ook nog meerdere vasculaire compressies, wat het uiterst complex maakt. Sinds 1,5 jaar gaat haar gezondheid drastisch achteruit.
Medische achtergrond en huidige situatie:
Een erg zeldzame en complexe combinatie van vasculaire aandoeningen, waaronder:
• Klippel-Trénaunay-syndroom (zeldzaam aangeboren syndroom)
• Nutcracker-syndroom(zeer zeldzame nier aandoening) (behandeld met een stent, momenteel insufficiënt)
• May-Thurner-syndroom (vernauwing van de bekkenslagader)
• Truncus coeliacus compressiesyndroom (recidief)zeer zeldzaam zorgt voor verminderde bloedtoevoer naar de buikorganen
• Pelvic Congestion Syndrome
• Orthostatische bilaterale nephroptose
• Ernstig orthostatisch veneuse pooling
Dit houdt in dat bloedvaten en organen worden afgekneld, door de beperkte bloedtoevoer op de ene plek, en op andere plekken weer een overvloed, zorgt dit voor veel schade aan bloedvaten en organen, duizelingen, druk op de nier, bloed in de urine, lage bloeddruk/te hoge bloeddruk, hartproblemen, misselijkheid uitgedroogd gevoel ondanks genoeg drinken, braken, ernstige zenuwpijnen.
Door deze zeldzame vernauwingen kan dit mogelijk ook zorgen voor orgaan-falen door de druk die er ontstaat heeft ze ernstige zenuw pijnen, is erg verzwakt en totaal uitgeput, een scala aan uiteenlopende symptomen en is dit niet alleen zeer levensbeperkend maar kan ook lijden tot levensbedreigende complicaties.
Het is moeilijk voor mij als zoon zijnde en de familie om aan te zien hoe erg mijn moeder met de dag achteruit gaat.. We zijn vele ziekenhuizen afgegaan door heel Nederland, uiteindelijk met de medische gegevens en achtergrond vanuit Nederland en een gespecialiseerd rapport van een arts uit Duitsland naar Spanje gevlogen nadat we hadden vernomen via lotgenoten dat zich daar een arts bevind met veel kennis van deze complexe aandoeningen.
Onze enige hoop: een gespecialiseerde operatie in Spanje.
In Nederland is er helaas nauwelijks ervaring en te weinig kennis met deze zeldzame combinatie van aandoeningen en zijn de behandelopties in Nederland uitgeput of durven ze het niet aan..
Lang zag het er voor ons uitzichtloos uit maar na lang zoeken is er gelukkig één multidisciplinair gespecialiseerd team in Spanje die deze complexe operatie kan uitvoeren en mijn moeder kan helpen.
Zij hebben veel ervaring en kennis van deze zeldzame aandoeningen En hebben verschillende patiënten wereldwijd geholpen.
Deze artsen zien nog mogelijkheden om te helpen wat ook dringend nodig is.
Zonder operatie verslechtert haar toestand.
Elke dag zonder behandeling betekent meer achteruitgang en kans op meer compressies, deze aandoeningen nemen haar leven stukje bij beetje weg. Ze kan nauwelijks lopen, nauwelijks eten en heeft vaak ondraaglijke pijn. Maar ze wilt niet opgeven en heeft nog zoveel te dromen en voor te vechten.
Jouw hulp redt levens
We doen deze actie met één doel: mijn moeder deze kans geven. Een kans om weer normaal te kunnen ademen en te functioneren zonder pijn.
Deze steun hebben wij hard nodig want deze situatie is schrijnend en heeft ons veel verdriet en energie gekost, daarom vragen wij hoe moeilijk wij het ook vinden om geld in te zamelen voor mijn moeder zodat zij zo snel mogelijk deze operatie kan ondergaan omdat haar leven nu ondragelijk lijdzaam en uitzichtloos is.
Financiële situatie:
Helaas hebben wij niet de financiële hulpmiddelen om deze kosten te kunnen dragen die niet tot nauwelijks vergoed wordt door de zorgverzekering. We zijn blijven zoeken naar een oplossing voor mijn moeder..
Wij vragen vanuit de grond van ons hart om zoveel mogelijk steun en donaties zodat zij zo snel mogelijk geopereerd kan worden!
Kosten:
De totale kosten voor de gehele behandeling zijn maar liefst €60.000, dit omvat de pre- operatieve onderzoeken, de operatie zelf, de ziekenhuis opname (incl. Chirurgisch team en eventuele IC-Verpleging), de reis- en verblijfskosten, de medicatie en mogelijk onvoorziene uitgaven. Voor het herstel zullen we enkele weken in Malaga moeten verblijven.

My mother, a strong, spontaneous, loving, helpful, and sociable woman with a cheerful disposition and the beating heart of our family, is seriously ill.
My mother was born with a very rare vascular syndrome and also has multiple vascular compressions, which makes it extremely complex. Her health has been deteriorating drastically for the past year and a half.
Medical background and current situation:
A very rare and complex combination of vascular conditions, including:
• Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome (a rare congenital syndrome)
• Nutcracker syndrome (a very rare kidney disease) (treated with a stent, currently insufficient)
• May-Thurner syndrome (stenosis of the common iliac artery)
• Celiac trunk compression syndrome (recurrent) is a very rare condition that causes reduced blood flow to the abdominal organs
• Pelvic Congestion Syndrome
• Orthostatic bilateral nephroptosis
• Severe orthostatic venous pooling
This means that blood vessels and organs are compressed.
Due to the limited blood flow in one area and an overabundance in another, this causes significant damage to blood vessels and organs, dizziness, pressure on the kidney, blood in the urine, low/high blood pressure, heart problems, nausea, dehydration despite drinking enough fluids, vomiting, and severe nerve pain.
Due to these rare strictures, this can also potentially lead to organ failure. Due to the pressure that builds up, she experiences severe nerve pain, is extremely weak and completely exhausted, and experiences a range of diverse symptoms. This is not only very life-limiting but can also lead to life-threatening complications.
It is difficult for me as a son and the family to watch how much my mother deteriorates daily.
We visited numerous hospitals throughout the Netherlands, finally flying to Spain with the medical information and background from the Netherlands and a specialized report from a doctor in Germany after hearing from others in the same situation that there was a doctor there with extensive knowledge of these complex conditions.
Our only hope: specialized surgery in Spain.
Unfortunately, in the Netherlands, there is little experience and insufficient knowledge of this rare combination of conditions, and treatment options in the Netherlands have been exhausted or are simply unwilling to pursue them.
For a long time, things looked hopeless, but after a long search, there is fortunately a multidisciplinary team in Spain that can perform this complex surgery and help my mother. They have extensive experience and knowledge of these rare conditions and have helped numerous patients worldwide.
These doctors still see opportunities to help, which is also urgently needed.
Without surgery, her condition will worsen.
Every day without treatment means further deterioration and the risk of more compressions. These conditions are gradually taking her life away. She can barely walk, barely eat, and often experiences unbearable pain. But she refuses to give up and still has so much to dream and fight for.
Your help saves lives
We are doing this campaign with one goal: to give my mother this chance. A chance to breathe normally again and function without pain.
We desperately need this support because this situation is dire and has cost us a great deal of grief and energy. Therefore, however difficult it may be, we are asking you to raise money for my mother so she can undergo this surgery as soon as possible. Her life is now unbearably difficult and hopeless.
Financial situation:
Unfortunately, we do not have the financial resources to cover these costs, which are rarely, if ever, covered by health insurance. We've continued searching for a solution for my mother.
We sincerely ask for as much support and donations as possible so she can have surgery as soon as possible!
Costs:
The total cost of the entire treatment is a whopping €60,000. This includes preoperative examinations, the surgery itself, hospitalization (including the surgical team and any ICU care), travel and accommodation expenses, medication, and any unforeseen expenses. We will need to stay in Malaga for several weeks for recovery.
