Hi, my name is Rebecca, and this is my story....
Becky is suffering from bowel failure and it has affected all parts of her life, this go fund me is to help get her and her little family back on their feet since she has been unable to work for 6 months, please read on for the full story in her own words....

"I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 28, its a chronic pain disease that affects my joints and pain levels, due to this I assumed whenever I had a flare up it was my fibro, and so did the doctors... In September of last year, my beloved little cat Indiana got diagnosed with heart failure, we were told he would live another 3 months, fortunately he lived 9! Initially the pain I was feeling that was physical was believed to have been my fibromyalgia which can be flared up due to stress, we thought the news of my boy being sick was what caused it but it wasn't the fibro.
I suffered with constant pain, vommitting and defacating blood, inability to eat anything without constant cramping and severe pain.
I struggled on and had my bloods taken, just infection markers and nothing more came up, I was given strong pain relief to combat the pain and carried on working at both my jobs as an auxiliary nursing assistant with a veterinary practice and as an impersonator and owner of an entertainment company who visit children as Princesses fairies and everything else in-between.

By march I was now in so much pain it was difficult to walk and some days even sit up right. I had been signed off sick from all work and I thought it would improve, spoiler...It didn't!
I had repeated bloods and was told by my GP on multiple occasions I was just in a flare up and an infection and was given 3 lots of antibiotics.
By the end of march I was now so weak and tired I could no longer cope, I was too afraid to go to hospital incase I had to stay and if that was the case my darling boy Indianas medical needs could not be met by me as his main carer. I was now losing so much blood I was fainting when i stood up.
By April it had gotten to a stage where I had no choice but to seek medical attention.
I agreed to go to the hospital as my wife had told me over and over I wasn't right, I tried to hide it from her most the time and said I just felt unwell with my fibro, when I got to a&e I was immediately admitted, and although there was no bed available I was kept in a&e for 2 days on fluids and medication until I could be allocated somewhere on the ward.
After x-rays, CT scans and more invasive testing it was clear the entirety of my abdomen was full of infection, fluid and blood.
I was told I was internally bleeding and needed more medication and scanning to locate the issue.
After 4 days they managed to get to the bottom of the problem, I had something wrong with my bowel, they had to give me enemas and do an urgent colonoscopy,
Upon this colonoscopy they discovered that my intestines were so infected that they were haemorrhaging.
The next two days I was unstable and I don't remember much! What I do remember is I had 5 kilos of infection removed from my body and I was close to septic shock, fortunately I pulled through, and I was starting to get better with prolonged medication, that was until the blood clots started.
Now the top part of my bowel was full of blood clots and was starting to die.
Another 2 days went by and With clot busting drugs the clots were gone, I was kept in until they figured I was well enough to get better at home.
All the wards were full and the staff were under extreme pressure, I was on a palliative care ward and in my own room which I can imagine many patients would of needed.
At last I could go home with blood thinners and an entire bag full of drugs!
My latest CT showed that I was only showing severe inflammation but no current internal bleeds or clots so it was time i could recover at home.
I was desperate to go home because I had a massive charity event with my company and my best friend came up from Portsmouth to drive me to the event and keep an eye on me, I knew I wasn't suppose to be working but I so desperately wanted the event to go well, having had my company for 11 years I am very proud of the work Princess Academy has achieved and I was really looking forward to seeing it.
I spent the event sat down, covered in plasters from all the tubes and needles that had been taken out of me.
3 days later I unfortunately got rushed back in.
By now it was may and I was back in again with the same issues. This time I was blue lighted to the hospital and my blood pressure had dropped so low I was almost unconscious.
From what I can remember i was back on a ward and had more testing, scanning and the same issues were treated the same way as last time.
Again the bleeding and clots were sorted but this time I was kept in much longer and monitored.
It was clear now that this was bowel failure and they needed to discover the cause.
I stayed in for several weeks until I felt well enough to go home.
Together with the drs and nurses I was able to put together a list of food and drinks I could take that didn't exacerbate my condition.
My best friend took me home to Portsmouth where I could be with family and friends and continue recovering, my wife was now Indianas main carer until I was well enough to go home full time.
I have now had many more scans, cameras up both ends - not fun! And so far the big C has been ruled out of my lower intestines.
I am due another colonoscopy on the 2nd of August where they will be sending the camera up much higher to view all my intestines.
Ulcers in my stomach that were detected in may have now cleared up and whilst i am now able to walk around, the pain is still excruciating and I am not yet cured.
The results from my colonoscopy in a few days will then be the deciding factor with my medical team on what course of action will be needed. At the moment surgery is on the cards but exactly what will happen I don't know.
My family consists of my wonderful wife who has taken the brunt of the stress from all this, 4 guineapigs, 1 bearded dragon, 1 ball python, 1 African pygmy hedgehog and my 2 cats, of course my sweet boy Indiana has now passed and as you can imagine the costs of his illness and passing have been very high, all my bills are now piling up and I've had to borrow money off people which needs to be repayed.
I've gone from earning £1200 a month down to just £300 of sick pay. Were in the red and I'm desperate to bring my boy Indianas ashes home from the vets but cannot until his final bills are paid.
This go fund me is to help pay off all the debts I have due to being unable to work for 6 months. With no back to work date currently in the pipeline things have gotten tough. But I'm tougher!
I currently spend most days at home, only able to keep down salad and ramen, water and sugar free squash.
My current list of things I cannot eat is growing by the day and more and more things are affecting my pain and ability to function.
I will be updating you all as things develop.
Please if you are religious pray for me and if you are not, positive thoughts.
Love and light,
Becky
