Please Help Josh and his Family
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Shelley Freeman and I have set this up to help my sister, Crystal, my brother in law, Josh, and my niece, Danielle.
All funds raised will go directly to my sister to help with the costs of lodging, food, necessities (toiletries etc.), and their household bills.
My brother in law, Josh Robinson, has been an electrician for as long as I have known him, and that's been almost 30 years. He and my sister have worked tirelessly to build his company to one that can be trusted.
He met my sister when he was 18 and they've been together since. There love was a whirlwind of everything but it has stood the test of time. They have shared a life together for more than half of their lives. They share a daughter that is the absolute light and love of their life.
Josh has worked hard and provided for his family, including my disabled mother. He has always been the provider financially.
On Thursday, April 3, 2025, Josh was critically injured on the job. Josh has a small electrical business that he started and has worked endlessly to build it to where it is.
Josh was getting something out of the bed of his truck (Dodge Ram dually) when the truck slipped out of gear and started rolling. Josh went to turn around and move out of the way, unfortunately, he slipped. The way he fell, he went to his knees and the truck rolled on him. His nephew had to drive the vehicle off of him.
Once they got Josh out from under the truck, the homeowner started CPR and checking for a pulse. Josh was taken to the waiting helicopter by the rescue squad. They were not able to take off due to trying to get him stable. According to the report, they lost his heart rate eight times. He was sedated and intubated before leaving in the helicopter.
Once he arrived at UAB, he was transferred to the UAB Trauma ICU in critical condition. UAB Hospital is located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Once he was assessed, we were given his initial report. His ribs, all of them, were broken. His lungs were punctured and crushed. His back is broken in two places. His liver shows damage. His spleen shows damage. He was placed into a medically induced coma to prevent causing any more damage.
He has undergone many tests, X-Rays, and scans. He was not stable enough to undergo the many needed surgeries.
As of today, he is still in the coma, he is still on the ventilator, and he has developed pneumonia. Along with the pneumonia, comes a fever that he is also being given medicine for and covered in a cooling blanket. He is still in critical condition and according to the doctors, he may not survive.
As we all know, no matter what life throws at us, the bills do not stop. When you add this kind of tragedy on top of life, there is just not enough money. My sister and my niece have been at the hospital day and night and thanks to the generosity of family and friends, they have had a hotel. But those funds are gone and tonight is the last night they have money to pay for the room. The daily cost of food, when they do eat, costs money that they are running out of funds for. And on top of that, the household bills are starting to come in as well, and there are no funds for that.
Any help you can provide is so greatly appreciated. If you can't donate, please share this. You may share it with the person that can help.
Prayers for healing and strength and positive thoughts of healing and strength are always needed. I will update this at least once every other day but if there is a change in Josh's condition, I will update immediately.
