Helping the orphans of Tanzania!
 

I am Maria from Spain and living in USA. This year, I travelled to Tanzania  to collaborate with an organization in the poor region of Kibaha, Tanzania.

Orphans are one of the most vulnerable groups of the society in Tanzania and in the world at large. This social issue is one of the biggest challenges in front of the society. The figures of the children getting orphaned each day is alarming.

This is the reason this community started in 2008 an Orphans caregiving home that is now a home for about 220 orphans, who have lost both parents. Every year there is intake of 25 Orphans to the center.


During my time there, I saw first-hand how they strive to provide these pure souls a home environment, accommodation, education, clothing and medical care with lots of love!

I believe wholeheartedly in them work and consistent desire to fuel positive change and I feel grateful for have been a small part of this mission.


The orphanage is not supported financially by the government so it’s the community who organize themselves to run it. Though they take it upon themselves to put the children first, they depend on the support of folks who share the same desire to help those that need it the most!

The money raised will help this organization to make sure kids are covered in the 3 main areas: housing, education and health, by:

·      Improve the facilities increasing orphan’s quality of life. These are mosquito nets, mattresses, sheets, blankets and clothes.
 
·      Provide education to orphans by registering them at the Nursery School where a good education is possible for these kids.

·      Primary health care by training in hygiene and illness prevention and of course taking care of illness. Malaria is one of the most common risk they fear.

Ayudando a los huérfanos de Tanzania!

Soy María de España y vivo en Estados Unidos desde hace varios años. Este año tuve la oportunidad de viajar a Tanzania para colaborar con una organización en unas de las regiones más pobres del país: Kibaha.

Los huérfanos son uno de los grupos más vulnerables de la sociedad en Tanzania,  y en el mundo en general. Este problema social es uno de los mayores retos a los que se enfrenta la sociedad. Las cifras de los niños huérfanos que aparecen cada día son alarmantes.

Y esta es la razón por la que esta comunidad comenzó en 2008 un hogar de cuidado de huérfanos que hoy en día ya es el hogar para unos 220 huérfanos, que han perdido a ambos padres. Cada año hay una ingesta de 25 huérfanos al centro.


Durante mi tiempo allí, vi de primera mano cómo se esfuerzan por darles a estas almas un ambiente hogareño, alojamiento, educación, ropa y atención médica y todo con mucho amor!

Creo de todo corazón en el trabajo que están haciendo y en su constante deseo de impulsar un cambio positivo. Estoy muy agradecida de haber sido una pequeña parte de esta misión.


El orfanato no esta financiado por el gobierno, por lo que es la comunidad la que se organiza para administrarlo. Y aunque están comprometidos a poner a los niños hijos en primer lugar, dependen del apoyo de personas que comparten el mismo deseo de ayudar a quienes más lo necesitan.

El dinero recaudado ayudará a esta organización a asegurarse de que los niños estén cubiertos en las 3 áreas principales: vivienda, educación y salud.

·      Mejorar las instalaciones de centro aumentando la calidad de vida de los huérfanos, con mosquiteras, colchones, sábanas, mantas y ropa.

·      Proporcionar educación a los huérfanos inscribiéndolos en la escuela infantil, donde es posible una buena educación para estos niños.

·      Atención primaria de salud, a través de formación en higiene y prevención de enfermedades y por supuesto atención médica ante las enfermedades. La malaria es uno de los riesgos más comunes y desafortunadamente la sufren a menudo.
