Helping Mommy And Puppy With Medical Needs!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Danielle and I’m a dog lover just like you. I was pulling into our driveway on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022 and noticed two dogs roaming in the large field near our home. We consistently see coyotes lurking around in this field so there was no doubt we needed to secure these precious fur babies.

I rushed out of my car and approached with caution. As I grew closer it was clear I was looking at a mommy and her puppy. They ran further into the field once they saw me. I immediately ran back home and grabbed my family to help.

We grabbed treats and leashes in hopes to lure them close enough so we could bring them home. As they began to eat the treats we were tossing, we were shocked to see how skinny mommy was. Somebody put a very thick leather collar with a huge buckle on her. It looked bigger than her neck. Poor mama!

Almost 2 hours later, we finally earned their trust and brought them home. Immediately we realized mommy was really sick. She was so weak and her left eye had green discharge coming out of it. She was coughing, exhausted and breathing rapidly. No matter how she was feeling, she was so calm and had such a peaceful demeanor about her. I was surprised how loving she was towards us because she’s been neglected by the humans around her. When you look into her eyes, you’ll feel her heartache, disappointment, struggles and gratitude.

Her puppy was also so loving and he seemed so grateful we found them. He looked pretty healthy and was not nearly as skinny as his mommy. He’s so darn cute though!
I have never seen two dogs so bonded, it’s really beautiful to watch them together.

The next day we took them both in to see if they’re microchipped and unfortunately they are not. We knew mommy needed medicine for her eye so we went ahead and had them examined by our Veterinarian. Looks like mommy has a heart murmur and has symptoms of Distemper or Kennel Cough. Her third eyelid is also present. Our Vet suggested we start her on an antibiotic and wait it out for 2 weeks to see if she shows any neurological symptoms. Her puppy’s examination went well. We started his vaccination process just in case mommy has distemper.

The vet advised us to watch her for 2 weeks to see if any neurological symptoms occur. She is on antibiotics and we are watching her closely.
She sleeps all day so we hand feed her food and water. Her puppy knows something is wrong with his mommy and comforts her through the day.

My family and I are not a rescue organization nor are we affiliated with any shelter.
We’re just a family that saw 2 dogs in desperate need of help. We already have 2 doggies we rescued from a shelter at home and have to keep them separate from mommy and puppy. We’re your average family living day to day managing life as best we can.
We’re hoping to raise money to assist with the cost of saving mommy and her adorable puppy.

We will do everything in our power to help mommy recover and to find them the perfect forever family. We realized these extraordinary fur babies deserve a name so I’d like to introduce you to Serenity and Trooper!

We choose Serenity because no matter what she’s been through and what she’s going through, she’s still so calm and peaceful.

We choose Trooper because his journey must of been so difficult for him and he still manages to be such a loving puppy.

We want to thank you all for taking the time to read their story and progress thus far. We will continue to update you and provide records of all past and future needed medical costs. Any money not used towards medical expenses will be spent on new beds, treats, food, bones, toys, anything they need.

Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts! ❤️
