Hi everyone. My Name is Kaitlyn Frontera, however, this account has nothing to do with me at all...so let me introduce you to Layla Mae.

Layla Mae is an 8 month old Rottweiler who has been spoiled with kisses, cuddles and love since coming to live with me at 8 weeks old. She is incredibly smart, loving, loyal and happy. She's everything I could have ever wished for in a companion, and then some.
I know everyone says this about their dog, but this little girl is my entire world. I love her to the moon and back and will do anything for her. Living with celiac disease, hypothyroidism and a history of anxiety disorders, most days are a struggle for me to even get out of bed let alone deal with life. Layla has filled the empty void in my heart and brought me back to life. She is my therapist, my protector and my nurse when I am ill. I depend on her just as much as she depends on me. She is my strength and I am hers.
This morning, around 5am, I woke up to this sweet, perfect angel having an unexplained seizure. She was unresponsive, laying in vomit and losing all control over her bowels right in front of my eyes. Imagine your loved ones. Now imagine the very thought of losing one of them. The scariest thing in the world, right?
My boyfriend and I flew out of bed, quickly picked her up, grabbed the keys, flew into the truck with her and arrived at the emergency clinic in what felt like a second later.
From 5:30am to 10 they were able to stabilize her but additional small seizures soon followed. Iv Fluids, X-ray's ultrasounds, bloodwork and many other tests later and no answers. After 6 hours in the clinic, and $800 later, we were told it was best to transfer her to a specialist who could further help her since she was not getting better. Money was not even on my mind. She needed help NOW.
A little bit later we were able to transport her to the nearby vet specialist, 20 minutes away. Currently they are running other tests and have new possible leads (praise the Lord!) and can hopefully find out what is wrong with her.
Back to me and the reason why I am here sharing this story with you. I am a college student who just moved 7 hours away from home 3 months ago to hopefully fulfill my dream of obtaining a bachelors degree at the Florida State University. With that comes lots of student loans and many other living expenses. I am only working part time (barely 20 hours a week) and am living paycheck to paycheck.
I was eligable for a care credit card but have only 6 months to pay off roughly $3,000 and quite frankly that is just impossible with my income. We are not out of the dark yet, being that there is still no answer to her extreme condition so that amount could double or even triple in the coming days. I have attached both bills from both offices that I have received for Layla for proof.
I honestly feel horrible about asking anybody for even a dime but i really have no choice. Anything helps. Don't do it for me, Don't do it for my boyfriend, Don't do it for anyone but LAYLA. Do it for Layla. She does not deserve any of this and needs to get better so she can continue to live a happy and healthy life and get spoiled rotten. Layla and I will be eternally grateful for any donation made, no matter how small. Thank you.
