HELP CHILDREN OF VENEZUELA
Donation protected
HELPING CHILDREN OF VENEZUELA started five years ago as the humanitarian crisis was greatly affecting the lives of the most vulnerable sector of the population: THE VENEZUELAN CHILDREN.
Since we started in August of 2017, we have sent 252 boxes and thousands of items such as baby formula, vitamins, powdered milk, antibiotics, baby food, diapers, medicine and medical supplies, among many other things to Venezuela.
Additionally, items such as shoes, clothes, hygiene kits, school supplies and food have also been sent. They are given to children living in exceptionally vulnerable situations in the slums of Caracas and other cities in the country. Distributing the items is carried out by doctors, parishes’ staff, and sister foundations who dedicate their time to supporting and feeding children in extreme poverty.
Now, in 2022, Venezuelan families continue to struggle to survive with the reality of the ongoing widespread violence and economic turmoil they must face every day.
According to UNICEF, Venezuelan children under 5 have a death rate of almost 25 percent. Of those children who survive, more than 50 percent will have physical and/or intellectual deficiency as adults due to acute malnutrition suffered during those critical years of growth.
In a survey published in May 2021, the development group Caritas found that 42% of children in Venezuela's poorest neighborhoods reflect stunting or wasting. The U.N. in 2020 published a report estimating that nearly one in three Venezuelans was food insecure, which means that they were either eating fewer than three meals per day or didn't know where their next meal would come from.
Venezuela’s children will continue to suffer from the consequences of the country’s hyperinflation and food and medicine shortage. That is why our 2022 Campaign’s goal is to RAISE ENOUGH FUNDS to continue sending these boxes filled with humanitarian help to Venezuela.
To all of you who donated since 2017, we would like to THANK YOU! your kindness and generosity have made a tangible difference in the lives of these children. Because of your support and compassion, hundreds of children and their families have access to clothes, medicines and food.
As a reminder, your donations are tax deductible for this calendar year.
