Crystal Castillo and Spidey Guster are the founders of the non-profit, Zulu Dance Foundation. For the past 6 years they've experienced such joy in teaching the art of hip-hop to the younger generations, ultimatley instilling hip-hop is peace, love, unity, and having fun! In May they had a very hard heartbreak when Zulu Dance lost their home base studio and since that day Spidey and Crystal have been on the search for a new home for Zulu.
UPDATE:
Crystal and Spidey after reviewing the lease and receiving wise council from supporters of Zulu who have experience reviewing leases and are very knowledgeable in making good business decisions have decided not to sign the lease. BUT they are currently in negotiation for a new building in which all the cost are 50% less than the first property they were looking at. The property has a lobby for the parents, office, restrooms, an upstairs loft that can be used as a smaller dance studio, and 2000 sq ft. warehouse which will be used as the main dance studio. All of this will house more dance classes for kids and teens, community events and shows, Zulu rehearsals, and a first ever Zulu Dance Summer Camp! Currently Zulu Dance is teaching 50 kids and teens and are hoping with the bigger space they can open enrollment to add another 50-100 students while also still giving many full scholarships to any families in need.
As of now we want to raise as much funds as possible to prepare a great security deposit and be able to pay as many months in advance, so Zulu Dance is asking all our friends and family to please donate what you can to support the Zulu Dance Foundation. Your contribution will allow us to step foot into a home that we can continue to spread the real hip-hop: peace, love, unity, and having fun to so many kids, teens, families, and even young adults! And also please pray for us as we journey into the next phase of finally getting a home for Zulu.
Spidey and Crystal will be forever grateful to you for donating to their non-profit that means so much to them and will consider it a birthday gift since their day of birth is December 15th (Spidey) and December 17th (Crystal)!
*Tax ID for tax deductible purposes available upon request on donations $100+
