Little Warren was born 1/20/2018, nearly a month premature, in Durango, CO. Due to his underdeveloped lungs, he was already faced with respiratory issues On 1/21/2018, doctors informed Mom and Dad that little Warren had pneumonia, and would have to be transferred to a neonatal intensive care unit. Due to extreme weather in Denver, Warren was flown to the UNMH NICU, in Albuquerque, NM. Mom, was still recovering from his birth (C-section), so Dad and Warren took their first plane ride together, with Mom and 2 year old big brother to join them 7 days later.
Due to mounting medical bills, and lack of resources, Warren's family is struggling to remain in Albuquerque,until he is strong enough to go home. The family has obtained emergency housing, but at $30/per day, their funds have been depleted. Mom and Dad are having to face the terrible decision of returning home until Warren is ready for discharge, instead of being able to bond with their little guy, and focus on his recovery .
Warren's story is difficult to read, its even more difficult to see. Little Warren is my cousin. He is adorable and a fighter. Everyday we see him get a little stronger. We are asking for help to reach our goal of $1000, funds to help pay for Warren's parents to remain in Albuquerque until his is strong enough to return home. All monies will go directly to housing and food costs for the family.
No parent should have to leave their newborn child in a hospital in another state, just because they can not afford lodging. Please help little Warren have the support of his family around him, as he fights to get better every day!
