Help Thad Rebuild from the Flood

We, the friends of Thaddeus Perkins are setting up this fund to aid  him and his family in rebuilding from the recent Baton Rouge, LA flood.


Thad shares a home with his mother, grandmother and aunt.  That home was damaged badly by the recent flood and the family is displaced.

This devaster rears developed right on the heels of a previous lost home just this same time last year.  Thad and his family are still recovering from that lost home and the financial strain is taking a toll not only on the family but also his education.

Thad is considering taking off from his last year of architecture school in order to recover from losing his home in the flood in order to help his family.  The thing about Thad is that he is naturally selfless.  We had to beg and plead with him to make this page becuase he wanted to figure it  out on his own.  Finally he agreed but mentioned that this needs to be for the family...not just him.  




Despite losing two family residences in the span of a year, Thad has remained resilient, unsullened and surprisingly optimistic.  

Thad has mentioned that whatever is given will be split between everyone in the household and that whatever is leftover he will use towards his outstanding tuition balance of approximately 6k along with supplies needed for school that he lost in the flood.  Architecture supplies and computer software are some of the most expensive amongst college disciplinaries.  Once again, Thad is putting others before himself.  Let's use this opportunity to uplift him and his family and help him finish school.

We are not asking for funds to rebuild the home at this time because no one knows the final state of the home.  Right now, we are just concerned that Thad doesn't have to hault his studies (again) due to this flood.

This guy has an amazingly creative mind and we can't wait to hire him to build our dream homes.  But we need him to get this degree before doing so.

Update: Thad will like to send Thanks EVERYONE for their contributions to his family. He especially is thankful for all the prayers and help from complete strangers. The Perkins have completely gutted the house and are in the process of rebuilding. The donated funds have not gone toward housing materials but rather cleaning materials and work uniforms so that everyone can go back to work in the meantime. Funds have also been used for food and gas for the family. Right now the family is living in an office space while they wait for FEMA to provide housing. Please keep the family in prayers and donations are still welcomed. Hopefully FEMA will come through soon.
