In Memory of Lexi

Donation protected
I am reaching out to all my family and friends asking for any support that you can provide, financial or spiritual, for my best friend and her family.
Sweet little Alexis just celebrated her 3rd birthday on September 17th 2015. Tragically, she wasn't at home celebrating with her family. She was in the ICU at the Children's Hospital. Lexi's kidneys were rapidly failing.
Earlier this year Lexi was diagnosed with celebral palsy. Despite her challenges, she is a happy and sweet little girl who brings joy to her parents, siblings and everyone she meets.
In early August 2015 Lexi was waking up with facial edema. She was misdiagnosed and sent home with antibiotics. She did not show improvement and Lexi's mother was told to give her benydryl around the clock.  Ultimately, it was discovered that she had nephrotic sydrome, which typically is very treatable. Despite being in and out of the children's hospital recieving infusions and other treatments, Lexi's family was hopeful she would soon get better. To their devastation, she continued to get worse. Her kidneys continued to lose functioning and the doctors have had trouble stablizing her severly high blood pressure. Little Lexi was admitted to the ICU. Yesterday she had a blood transfusion as well as surgery to place a catheter in her abdomen for her dialysis.
Last night, her renal biopsy revealed the worse, precious Lexi's kidneys are too damaged to function and there is no treatment available. Although her family is waiting for more test results, they are staying positive that she will be eligible to recieve a life-saving kidney donation.
For now, Lexi will remain in the ICU.   Her mother will be unable to work as she stays by her side, where she belongs. Any money donated will help with the loss of earnings for her parents and help relieve the financial stress that escalates in such a life-changing situation as this.  Anything you can contribute will help the family focus on getting Lexi better!

I have faith in humanity! Together we can help!
