ACTUAL FOOTAGE OF TRAUMATIC SKI ACCIDENT
My sister Sisily aka Ku'ulani went skiing with her boyfriend in Lake Tahoe back in February. It was her first time skiing ever, she was so excited. The entire week there she went skiing five days in a row and only fell down twice. lol She thought it was magical!
Her and her boyfriend decided on the fifth day to take a break and go to the NorthStar resort and go tubing. Which is kind of like sledding, but on an inner tube on a professional mountain NorthStar.

She had gone down three times and the fourth time the attendant spun her around, as he was pushing her down the hill. The tube went out of control, as she was spinning with exhileration her tube was gaining speed down the hill. There was a huge ice wall on the side that if she was not spinning she would have just gone up the curved ice wall and then continued down the slope. Since she was spinning out of control when the tube got to the ice wall she was backwards and it slammed the back of her head. Auwie. See Video. This sudden blow knocked her out of the tube and face down in the snow. She immediately started crying because of the pain. She said she felt like her neck snapped.

The agents alerted ski patrol who rushed to check her out and insisted for them to go to the clinic. She then went to the clinic and they urged them to get in an ambulance to go straight to the ER. The ER took catscans and X-Rays which thank God resulted in no broken bones or fractures.

They gave her a neckbrace, pain shots and recommended she follow up with a doctor once returning back home to Maui. She got back home and it took months to get an MRI approval and months of failed medication and physical therapy. She has not been able to drive and at the beginning she couldn't sit up to get out of bed on her own. She is thankful for her boyfriend and family that was there to support her. Now, four months later she still has not been able to return to work and she finally got MRI results. She incurred 4 herniated discs in her neck 3 of them are on her spinal chord and the other is on her nerve. They are going to start injections and if that fails surgery will be the next action step. Which is the reason why now i'm trying to raise money for all her medical bills that she is not able to take care of. I have no idea what else to do. So please whatever you can offer is greatly appreciated. I am thankful, she is thankful that she is not paralyzed.
The doctor informed her that any type of jar to her body at this point could paralyze her so the sooner the better to raise the funds so she can get the proper injections needed. Mahalo nui loa.
