Greetings, I’m Sheela’s younger sister. To all who know and love her, and to those learning of her story for the first time, our family is deeply grateful for your presence and support.

In October 2025, just before leaving for a trip to India, Sheela found a small lump in her left breast. When she returned two weeks later, it had grown noticeably, and tests confirmed stage 3 triple‑negative breast cancer (TNBC)—an aggressive, fast‑growing type requiring intensive treatment.

Sheela lives in Hong Kong with her husband, where she is now receiving care at Queen Mary Hospital. This news was deeply difficult —especially as Sheela had already overcome T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) fifteen years ago.

That earlier battle shaped her faith profoundly, and even now, she continues to face each day with grace and gratitude.

Why We’re Asking for Help

Sheela’s doctors have recommended a comprehensive treatment plan including chemotherapy, surgery, and immunotherapy over the coming year.

When we first shared this page, we were hopeful that part of the immunotherapy would be subsidized through available support programs in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, we were later informed that the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation’s quota was full, and the fund has since been discontinued.

As a result, the cost per immunotherapy cycle is now approximately HK$39,600 (US$5,075). Her doctors have confirmed a total of 17 cycles, bringing the estimated cost to around HK$673,000 (US$86,000).

Sheela has had to pause work to focus entirely on her treatment and recovery. Due to her previous illness, her insurance is unable to cover these costs. We have explored all available options locally, but at this stage, there are no additional sources of financial support available to her.

Because of your generosity, encouragement, and willingness to share Sheela’s story, we have already raised enough to cover approximately 15 of the 17 cycles — nearly 90% of the total treatment cost.

We cannot fully express what this means to us. Your support has brought not only financial relief, but also immense emotional strength to Sheela during some of her most difficult days. Knowing that so many people are standing with her has lifted her spirit in ways that words cannot capture.
