Hello, I am Margaretha, I live in The Netherlands and I've started this fundraiser to help a very close and dear friend of mine.
His name is Chokri, he lives in Tunisia and has 2 daughters. We've met 15 years ago while I was on holiday in Sousse, Tunisia and since then we be came very close friends.
One of the girls is called Nour (Habiba), she's 13 years now and since 2 years they know she has 2 bones diseases, Osteoporosis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteoporosis)
and Fibrous Dysplasia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibrous_dysplasia_of_bone). Due to these diseases she has broken her femur several times.
The first time was in 2014. The doctors inputted a temporary metal pin. After a while this was removed and things went well for some time. Then she broke it again and again it was fixed with a temporary metal pin.
The last time she broke it was on August the 8th 2016. It happend while she was swimming with her mommy. Again she received a temporary metal pin.
The doctor gave 2 options:
1 - A pin that can stay longer in the bone, but the costs are to high for this family
2 - Amputation of the entire leg
The costs for the operation with a semi permanent pin, MRI, X-rays, Blood tests, Medication and Physiotherapy are approximatly 7500 euros (15.000 dinar).
As you probably can imagine I really want to help my friend saving Habiba's (Nour) leg.
All donations will be transferred to Chokri, so he can pay the hospital bills for all pre-operation visits. He send all bills to me so I can post them here as updates and when the time has come for the operation I go to Tunisia myself to handover the rest of the money to get the operation done.
