Sandy's Breast Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Sandy is a single mom who has just been diagnosed with Cancer for a second time. Below she shares a glimpse into her unthinakable journey and a better understanding of how she'll use the money she raises for the most aggressive treatment she can find.  This is her journey of survival!
Please have a read and if you can, donate! Even the smallest amount would mean so much...

------ In her own words ------

My mom passed away from cancer 10 years ago. I still cry for her thinking about what she went through with conventional treatment l. How brave she was. She always kept a smile on her face for us.

My dad and I were just talking about her when the phone rang.   It was the doctor calling me at home to break the news that my Cancer had returned.
This was my second reoccurrence but this time the pathology showed ER positive, and invasive.  It had  penetrated the venous/lymph.  I was scared. I was in shock. The invasive cancer was not detected by any of the tests. Not the mammogram, the MRI or the ultrasound.  It was found by accident after the biopsy and lumpectomy for a DCIS.  I believed It was nothing to worry about. Now I was terrified. I have a 13 year old son to raise on my own. He needs me.

The best recommendation for treatment was mastectomy and lymph node removal followed by 5 years of Tamoxifen and  chemo.. I learned that I was not a good candidate for the type of reconstruction I would have preferred. I learned that chemo isn’t a for sure thing. It may or may not even find and kill any travelling cancer cells, but for sure it would kill my good cells and compromise my immune system. In the end, there would be no sure way of even knowing if itworked! Just live in fear.

I watched my mom suffer for 15 years through the horror of chemo and radiation and lymphedema and then finally succumb to a horrible death. I knew other people who had not faired well either. I knew instantly that I would not comply.  I turned to prayer and started researching natural treatment options in Mexico where I had been before only to discover high prices due to the US dollar exchange.

So in the last couple weeks I have discoved treatment options in Germany. Instead of being upwards of $60,000 US, German treatments are in the $35,000 Canadian! I am so relieved.

Because cancer is not a one time disease, I will need forever follow up and may need to travel to Germany again in 6 months to a year. So I
I have also found a treatment centre in Ottawa as well. They are currently reviewing my medical records and may be able to help me with additional follow up treatments:)

My goal is to  raise $25,000.
Cancer treatment is so expensive.
If anyone understanding the fight can help in even the smallest way it would be deeply appreciated.
