The Santa Barbara School District will never let a child go hungry. In fact, they give away free breakfast and lunch to guarantee it won't happen. Unfortunately, that means the schools have accumulated $15,000 of debt this year in meal debt. That money needs to come out of their general fund, meaning less money for much needed supplies and programs such as art, library, and P.E.
