Help Ryan Boniey Fight to be Cancer Free

Donation protected
Hello, everyone.  I am fundraising for my cousin, Ryan Boniey.

Ryan is a 37-year-old, single dad to a beautiful 9 year old daughter, named Isabella.  He works at the local mill; he's a former volunteer firefighter, an excellent drummer, and lover of music and movies of all kinds.  He is one of the best, kindest people I know, and I am so blessed he is my family.

In January of 2020, Ryan was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  He had a subsequent surgery and began radiation treatment.  After several treatments, he was told that his cancer was gone.  However, several months after this he began to have some new pain.  He returned to the doctor to find out that his cancer was not gone but in fact had spread to his liver, lungs, and some lymph nodes.  He was admitted in the hospital in Pittsburgh for 7 days and began his first round of chemotherapy.  He completed 2 months of intensive chemotherapy that ended on his birthday in January of 2021.  Afterwards, he received good news that the cancer had shrunk but there were still 3 areas of concern in his liver.  He was still in pain as well.  So, the doctors referred him to a specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana for a consultation.  The specialist said that he still in fact had cancer and that he needed further treatment.  The specialist wanted him to complete his next course of treatment at the hospital in Indiana.

This new treatment consists of a high dose chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplant.  It is a 6-week long treatment that will require chemotherapy and the harvesting and replacing of his own stem cells.  For this treatment, he must be in a sterile environment in the hospital, and he cannot leave during this time.

Ryan will be traveling from his home town in Follansbee, WV to Indianapolis, Indiana which is 6 hours away.  His family will be traveling back and forth as well to be with him during these 6 weeks.  He will start this treatment in mid-March 2021.

I’m starting this GoFundMe for Ryan to help with all of his many medical expenses – as the insurance will not cover everything for this type of specialized treatment.  Also, he will have immense travel expenses for gas, lodging, and meals for himself and his family during these 6 weeks of treatment.  Ryan has not worked for almost a whole year due to all of his previous radiation and chemotherapy treatments and he has his daughter to care for, household expenses, and bills at home.

Thank you for taking the time to consider donating to this very dear cause – for this very wonderful, kind, thoughtful, amazing person.  Anything you can spare will help him and his family so much during this challenging time.  He will be able to get the treatment he needs and know how much people care about him and his family.

Together we can make a difference and help Ryan on his road to at last being completely cancer free!
