Help Rebuild Irreplaceable Loss from Los Angeles Fires
Donation protected
The tragedies of these most recent wildfires all across Los Angeles have deeply struck a number of friends and family all across the city. While I am so, so thankful for the incredible firefighters and emergency support staff tackling these massive fires adeptly, to the point where I count myself to be one of the many, many lucky Angelenos that has not lost any family or friends’ lives, the level of hardship, pain, devastation, and loss has been on a massive scale among those I know.
In addition to personally supporting all of those I know who have lost so much and are looking to rebuild their lives as quickly and seamlessly as possible, I’m hoping to raise as much as possible through my social network to further support all those I know trying to get as close to whole as possible. While this deep wound of loss and heartbreak will never close, I’m hoping to help those around me recover, rebuild, and move forward with as much strength and support as possible. Any amount helps greatly in pushing this communal step forward. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
My family has lost a huge piece of our lives. Some things are irreplaceable (the sense of home and memories, old photographs and keepsakes, one-of-a-kind furniture, and other valuables that we had no way of accessing as the evacuation orders and area were sealed before we could go there). Despite this, they are lucky to be safe and have a place to currently live and be able to afford the process ahead. As such they have declined to accept any donations despite our loss and are asking to direct them towards any of my other friends who are more in need. Anything helps. We in Los Angeles are unsure of when and how insurance and FEMA will be able to be navigated for all of those I know who have lost homes, but help for the the process of rebuilding and recovering now and on the near future are so greatly and deeply appreciated.
