Raghu is a native of Hiriyur in Karnataka and currently living in Bangalore, India. Married and blessed with two beautiful girls aged Eleven and nine months. Life was so beautiful untill last year when he was diagnosed with Oesophagus Cancer. Their world has changed completely and the last sixteen months the family has gone through such pain and suffering that cannot be expressed in words.
Treatment of cancer is a very expensive exercise in India and there is very little social security or support from government . Raghu's family has been desperately fighting against all odds to save his life so the little girls can have a father to grow up with. In this process they have exausted all their lives savings.
Recently he was given hope that a special treatment called Dendritic Cell based Immunotheraphy along with standard procedure Chemotheraphy will help extend his life by another 5 - 10 years. On the 7th of August Raghu's family met with Doctors at Optimum Therapeutics to discuss the treatment plan. Based on their advise the "Denvax" Treatment (Autologus Dendtritic Cell Theraphy) will start from next week. It involves 12 doses of Denvax. The campaign goal has been set based on the cost of this treatment. This treatment will go for the next 3 months.
