Pepe needs your help. We rescued Pepe after he was run over by a car and lost his left rear leg. Despite everything he’d been through, he was so gentle that he trained as a pet therapy dog and began visiting hospital patients to help ease their pain and stress. Not long after we adopted him, our vet discovered that the kneecap in his remaining hind leg was dislocating. We were told that one day he would likely need surgery. We realized it would be costly, but we’d already fallen in love, and leaving him behind over money was simply not an option.
Now, the day has arrived where surgery is necessary. Pepe is 8 years old, and his kneecap is dislocating so severely that he can no longer walk, stand, or even go to the bathroom without extreme pain. The medical term is luxating patella, but what it really means is that his only back leg, the one he relies on for everything, is failing him. We are heartbroken to see him struggle, and we want to give him the chance to live pain-free and continue bringing comfort to others.
The funds raised will go directly toward the costs associated with Pepe’s surgery and recovery. If you’d like to help Pepe, even a small donation or a share can go a long way. Thank you so much for reading his story and for any support you can offer.
