My previous attempts local to me, have failed, & I need your help! My name is Nicole Webster, daughter, wife, mother of 2 teenage boys, & I'm also a dialysis patient.
I have been on dialysis (PKD) for 5 yrs & in the Fall of 2018, my kidneys were removed. In the following months, I would find out I also have CALCIPHALAXIS which has a 60-80% mortality rate, 2 yr life expectancy, & since I was diagnosed a year ago, this means I am racing the clock for a new kidney.
I have tried 4 different hospitals & due to my other health issues included, I haven't been approved, I'm too high risk! There is also the issue of waiting lists & due to Covid 19 making transplants harder to be successful, I feel as though I will never be given the chance.
The chances when i pass I will orphan my oldest who lost his dad many yrs ago. My second son, is going thru his own hardships & being separated from his brother worries me. & the fears a mother would normally have for her kids are amplified with each “NO” I’m told. Even worse, they too have PKD. I fight everyday for them & for myself, to show them to fight against all odds no matter what. My husband who has been my rock, my provider, my best friend, & an amazing stepfather to my kids & would be a widow & lose his family when I pass.
I simply cannot stop fighting for my family & no matter where I have to go to have a team willing to help me survive. Hopefully I can watch my sons graduate high school, college, & maybe have their own families. I have done everything I’ve been told to do but with each "NO" all my hopes are lost.
I have lost over 100 pounds, countless surgeries & procedures, & had to put my dreams of being a cardiovascular surgical tech or chef on hold.
Please help me out & be very aware that YOUR social distancing & use of masks help people like me to get in to see the dr more quickly & hopefully will spare my life.
