“Help Repair My Family’s Homes in Jamaica After Hurricane

Hi, my name is Candace, and I’m raising funds to help my 106-year-old great-grandmother repair her home in Hendon, Glendevon, Montego Bay, Jamaica, after it was severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa.
She has lived in this same home for most of her life — it’s where she raised her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It’s the heart of our family, filled with her memories, her laughter, and her love.
When Hurricane Melissa hit, most of her roof was ripped off, and rain poured inside, soaking her belongings and damaging the ceiling and walls. My grandfather, who has lived there since he was 13, tried his best to protect her, but the storm was too strong. Now, they are left in a home that’s partially open to the sky, vulnerable to weather and unsafe for two elderly people to live in.
Because of her age and fragile health, moving her is not simple. She needs stability, comfort, and a safe space to rest — and that’s why we’re trying to repair her home as quickly as possible.
Funds raised will go toward:
Replacing the roof and repairing structural damage
Waterproofing and restoring damaged walls
Fixing electricity and water access
️ Replacing essentials ruined by rain and wind
While other family homes in our area were also damaged, my great-grandmother’s home is our first priority — she’s 106 years old and has already endured more than anyone should have to.
Even £5 or $5 can help make her home safe again. If you can’t donate, please share this link so others can help. Every share, prayer, and act of kindness means the world to us.
Thank you for helping us protect and honor a woman who has given so much love and strength to our family and community.
