This is Maria Elsa Navarro Sayas, she has Osteoarthritis and is in urgent need of a total hip replacement. My name is Rosario, I live in Los Angeles and have personal ties with her and her family.
She lives in the impoverished Mexican village of Agua Caliente Grande De Gastélum, located in the municipality of Choix in the state of Sinaloa. The overall population there is only of 1453 people.
She lives in a home made up of plastic/tin and cardboard roof, that's mostly held up by wooden posts. She has no electricity, no running water or sanitation. I understand that with our busy lives, sometimes it’s easy to forget that there are human beings like Maria Elsa that exist under these conditions. Due to the fact that the bone in her hip is already completely broken she has been bed ridden for the past month. You can only imagine the severe pain she is in, lying there with a broken bone unable to even get up to use the restroom. When she does need to be moved the pain she is subjected to is horrifying. It's heartbreaking to hear her cries and screams. She has absolutely no means to pay for this surgery.
I myself visit this village at least twice a year, and along with my aunts family that lives in the neighboring town, about 40 minutes away, have provided economic relief to her and her ailing father before. Together we have been able to finance her transportation and medical testing/labs that were needed to get her diagnosis. So now, I am graciously asking for your support to help her. She has no one else. She was the sole provider for herself and her elderly father.
Without your help, I’m afraid to imagine what will become of her if she just has to lie there indefinitely, having to succumb to this illness.
There is no insurance. She will have to come out of pocket for absolutely everything. Your donation will go towards the surgery itself, all test and lab work prior and after surgery, her transportation to and from her village to the city of Los Mochis where her surgery will take place (2.5 hours each way), her nourishment and comfort while at the hospital (unlike US hospitals, Mexican hospitals offer little to zero comforts), all the medications for her recovery, her post-op visits and physical therapy.
I myself have spoken to the doctor and he is able to accommodate her just as soon as the funds are available. Please note that I am personally committed to traveling there to make sure that all of your donations are used for this purpose.

Ella vive en el empobrecido rancho mexicano de Agua Caliente Grande De Gastélum, ubicado en el municipio de Choix en el estado de Sinaloa. La población total es de solo 1453 personas.
Su casa esta echa con techo de lamina, en su mayoría esta sostenida por postes de madera. No tiene electricidad, ni agua corriente ni saneamiento. Entiendo que con nuestras vidas ocupadas, a veces es fácil olvidar que hay seres humanos como María Elsa que existen bajo estas condiciones. Debido al hecho de que el hueso en su cadera ya está completamente roto, ella ha estado encamada durante el mes pasado. Sólo se pueden imaginar el dolor severo en que se encuentra, por el que no puede siquiera levantarse para usar el baño. Cuando es necesario ser movida, el dolor al que está sometida es horrible. Es desgarrador escuchar sus gritos y llantos. Ella no tiene absolutamente ningún medio para pagar por esta cirugía.
Yo misma visito este rancho, al menos dos veces al año, y junto con mi tía que vive en el pueblo vecino, a unos 40 minutos, le emos podido dar alivio económico a ella y a su padre enfermo en otras ocasiones. Juntos hemos sido capaces de financiar su transporte y pruebas médicas / laboratorios que fueron necesarios para obtener su diagnóstico. Así que ahora, estoy pidiendo graciosamente su apoyo para ayudarla. No tiene a nadie más. Ella era la única proveedora para su padre anciano.
Sin su ayuda, me temo imaginar lo que va a ser de ella si tiene que estar allí indefinidamente, y tener que sucumbir a esta enfermedad.

Su donación se destinará a la cirugía en sí, todas las pruebas y análisis de laboratorio antes y después de la cirugía, su transporte hacia y desde su rancho a la ciudad de Los Mochis, donde se llevará a cabo la cirugía (2.5 horas en cada sentido), su nutrición y la comodidad mientras en el hospital (a diferencia de los hospitales de los Estados Unidos, los hospitales Mexicanos ofrecen poca o ninguna comodidad), todos los medicamentos para su recuperación, sus visitas postoperatorias y fisioterapia.
