On November 24th 2015 my mom, Margie Ohmer, was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). A day later they found a spot on her lungs that appeared to be a blood clot and a piece of the tumor on her kidney. She was admitted to the ER the same day. The Dr. began to attack the blood clot by putting her on blood thinners. The clot is in a small artery in her left lung. 

In order for my mom to beat this it is imminent that she have the kidney removed. It has been determined that it has not yet spread to any other organs in her body. Removal of the kidney, tumor and remains that are in the vein provide a high probability of success.

Anyone who knows her, knows she is a strong, independent, stubborn and head strong woman. I am very confident that she will have a complete and full recover and have my more years ahead of her. This is just a speed bump. 

My mom is a hair dresser and a business owner of a small salon in Baton Rouge. She opened it about two years ago. Most anyone who's ever started a business knows that it takes money to get started. She still pays on the debt acquired when starting the business. She relies heavily on her own income as a stylist to pay her own bills. 

I have set up this account to ask friends to help in easing the financial burden of the endeavor that my mom is about to go through. She will have surgery within the next few weeks and she will be out of work the minimum of two months. I have promised my mother I would not let her hard work in building her dream be destroyed by something that we all have hate so much. So I'm asking her friends, her family members, and anyone who has had their life touched by this incredible woman to help he now. 

I've seen this woman take a complete stranger in her home. Fight to raise money to help the people of Nepal. She has a heart for the weak and the suffering and would share her last meal with someone in need. Now I'm asking others to help her in this time of need.
