Hello people, did I happen to tell any of you how Lyla was found by not just the hundred or so casting professionals, directors, producers, submission requestors, magazine article writers, publication suppliers, or collaboration requestors but also was found two weeks ago and followed up on by the Head of the Santa Clarita, CA School of Performing Arts that was so taken in by Lyla's profile - her pics, her reel videos, her content, her summary, her personality come to life! (!), etc that he had to call and engage with her mommy to get to know her better over the phone- which lucky enough for him is broken on her mommy's end making her have to use the speaker phone so he was able to exerience full-on, unfiltered Lyla from sporatically bursting into song to demanding we pause our conversation to watch her walk the line and- DID YOU SEE MY POSE? - then there is the playful giggling and talking back and forth in differing voices while playing with multiple toys showing modeling, runway, singing, and even voice over skills from the start to this man! The head of the school, Nick, was so taken in, in fact that he wondered if we had the means to make a January Runway shoot 6 days from when he called but since neither me nor my co-parent are robbing banks out here we had to decline but without a huge mass of regret because we knew there was nothing we could have done to have made it happen for her despite the place asking that was so caught up being a popular west coast School of Performing Arts- anymore than than that vague wish we were rich, of course! Haha. He and I ended our conversation with him sending us some information and apologizing for offering with so little time since the youth should be enrolled with the school as expected by the throwing entity of the show anyway so we didn't much look back to consider anything except that considering that they are West Coast based so not likely to bring up anything tangiable for us, and we didn't expect another opportunity to present itself with this walk he spoke of which I would come to find out was much more than just some walk... Only here we are and, what do you know? I happened upon a new voicemail from last week from Nick today and returned his Voicemail inside of which he expressed a realistic, great opportunity for Lyla and some genuine interest in her and the performative programs they offer there at the School of performing arts together. I got him on the phone for him to gush over Lyla of whom was just being the Lyla Girl she is in the background engaging this fellow even as he expressed with a laugh how excited he had been to see the new photoshoot photos we spoke to him about us posting during our first call soon after the shoot itself and then it happened...
Today the Head of the School, Nick, messaged about Lyla's new imagery that promised everything we had told him Frozen Moments Photography would provide We brought up his voicemail he had left before we got back to him from last week and and how he said something about a fashion choice he wanted to see if I could make when I called him back before referencing an interest in Lyla further insomuch as the school itself's programs and her. Never being one to beat around the bush, I immediately jumped on him, and he threw out the dates for the next J.C. PENNY FASHION RUNWAY SHOW, of which a few of his performing arts students will be walking on the runway. Fitted, fine, and fierce. Not a show a week from now but one 3 months and a 18 days from now, and that even though he could not promise Lyla would technically be one of his students at any point in time that he was fine with stating she represented the School of Performing Arts so that she can walk without any issue if we made the trip and took advantage of this amazing opportunity most models will never have much less 5-year-old ones!!- besides, he really was interested in the programs! He said he would like to think that he had given us the needed time enough to make the trip nearly 4 months into the future from RVA to Santa Clarita, CA for 2 days where Lyla would spend her second day there in hair & makeup by 1pm, 2pm practice on the fly to amp up the serve for that 3pm walk when every one would be about the fashion show and Lyla's serve that he was confident that she would kill!. And after the show on day 2 and before leaving on day 3? Before we take off on our flight home? He wants to talk to us more about what they can do for a child like Lyla to see about getting her into their Performing Arts Program- Even if it was the lowest totem when it comes to the school's education plans available and thus, lowest cost out of the 3 packages they offered gifted, young ones. That he could hear her personality throughout the whole calls we had with me (again, broken iPhone and I have a 5-year-old), her with him as well during these times, and that he personally could not wait for the opportunity to make the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts that much of a gifted place that a child that had so much coming together about her could be modeling more, singing like she wants to do, going further into acting with her forward, confident, personality that seemed like it never skipped a beat. That he wished this was a performing gig that they could pay and it not be an issue where he would have needed to have given me all the time but that he would give me a month to give him what he hoped would be a resounding 'YES!' to me and Lyla flying out and Lyla having not some school run this, tribal dance that, gymnastics associated reward or any collab or mag pics that looked good but weren't brick and mortar like you'd find fashion mags like People on the stands. Nick said that this event, by it's very name, already told you who it was for in the legit title who was a store currently ranked the #1 ranked department store within the United States, J.C. Penny. While paying a catwalk specifically out for the top models who HAVE names in the business it is a walk for those growing in it to MAKE NAMES in the business which still equates per the event, the fashion, the security, the associated fees on goers, the media, etc the projected funds spent is still several hundreds of thousands so that means that when Lyla walks down that catwalk, crooks her elbow and cocks out her leg as she grins her know-she-got-it-all smile - or maybe makes all they're hearts skip a beat when she lays that big open mouth smile on 'em!-, it's going to show up as unsurpassable on a resume, portfolio, or model comp card. Doing this also shows agencies interested in Lyla right now that, when given the means, we don't mind dropping in to another city or state to get her the right roles. Lyla is already a little star but this gig is the one that makes that start a shooting one! Right now, with this gig just on her upcoming work it's changed agencies from considering her for submissions t considering her on the roster- one job already offered to her being a Liquid Model right here in RVA. Later in life all these multiple opportunities that leads to her picking the right place will have mattered for her. Any gains she gets from this experience with the performing arts school will matter greatly to her growth into one of those top models that will be one of the ones getting paid when she comes back after 18 to a show just like this to serve as an adult on J.C. Penny's dime then!
But like I said, I have been given 3 months and 18 days to come up with the money for this visit. We've done the research and if we're able to make around $1000.00 around the 3 months and 2 week mark then we can get us over there for about $1K- 2 flights, 2 day hotel stay, 2 day car rental- BUT if I can reach out to those who want to support my daughter and care about her little dreams, love her little face, and wants to see her light up on that stage you can be sure her mommy will be filming from the back while the head of the arts program takes quality video of every model who walks from the front of the catwalk, we are pretty sure we can lock in the Priceline VIP price at the 2 months mark that would drop the cost to just $600 for a round trip for mommy & daughter, hotel, and car with us just having to worry about food and refilling the rental gas come time for us to go. So if you want to help then check out the link or QR code below and go donate $10? $20? $50? if you're feeling especially heavy on the kids growing up to live their dreams! I just created Lyla's GoFundMe a few hours ago and we're already off to a good start at $200.00 after only being up and running for around 5 hours. Thanks so much for my first 2 anonymous friends and an overwhelming, tearful, THANK YOU(!!!!) to my friend in sobriety, Steve, for believing in my daughter enough to drop a digital Benjamin on her journey! Lets keep up this momentum going, friends and family! And ,hopefully, see that $600 number long before 2 months so we can get this thing locked in! I believe we can do it and just sent the ole' baby daddy the details, the link, and QR Code to donate and share so if that uh, fella can do it I know you guys can help me out as well. Even if you have to wait til payday to donate, no worries. Even if it's only $10 bucks- you're appreciated. But mostly, even if you are 'broke' as someone told me tonight so no on the donating- donating is more than just raising money. You liking any post about this GoFundMe, commenting on it, sharing it for your friends to read about Lyla's little dream and our hope that we can make her first dream come true can hit them too then maybe they'll donate -and if not? HAVE THEM LIKE AND SHARE TOO!
I can't believe we're already a third of the way to $600 and truly believe we can reach that mark by 2 months without having to hold out for the full thousand. But if it comes to pass and we have to hold out and wait the sunrise for those last donations to shine a light on in then we'll do that too. But come hell or high water, this is an amazing experience that I would be a shitty parent, provider, and dream weaver for my little shield maiden if I allowed her to miss out on experiencing it. So we're gonna work this GoFundMe shit until we raise every cent so I can thank you all by name at the very end and send blessings to the Great Spirits in your name come the next pow wow- the weekend after we return from her schoot. ^__^ We're blessed already, guys! Just waiting on you all to show us how much we are and how soon it'll take to show it to us! You're amazing! And so appreciated!
