Guess I 'm NOT Superman!

My wife and I were cycling on a flat trail on Sunday, August 13th,  and I was having a bit of chest pain all during the ride. I blew it off as indigestion since I just passed a stress test last month.  Late Monday evening, the pain got so bad I broke down and let my wife take me to the ER. I was having a heart attack. Turns out it was the "Widowmaker" artery that was 100% blocked.



After 2 stents and 48 hr with an aortic balloon, I'm stabilized. The hopsital  experience is the least of my worries. The medication that I will have to be on for the rest of my life is going to be the problem. It is expensive and most of the cost is not covered under our insurance.

My wife works a "permanent" temporary job making a little more than minumum wage with no benefits. I also have a desk job but we are still recovering finacially from my back surgery last year, which kept me out of work for three months.



After my recovery, it will be an additional three weeks before I am able to return to work, and that's being optimistic.

 We also have our 19 yr. old daughter with Asperger's syndrome that still lives at home and is about to enter college.

I am very blessed to have the support of a loving family and to  have survived the "widowmaker" heart attack. I am grateful for that but the stress over money may cause another one.

I don't want to be rich, I just want to be relieved of the worry that may ultimately cause me to have another heart attack. I want to be around to see our daughter graduate from college and to be able to enjoy riding my bike again with my friends and my lovley wife.
