Hi everyone This is hard for us to ask, but we truly need help.

My partner and I are queer artists and community event organizers here in Oceanside, CA. Over the past year, we’ve lost both of our cars to serious mechanical issues due to being older. We were briefly gifted an older car, but its transmission failed within two months. Since then, we’ve been without reliable transportation since last year.

We do almost everything on foot and by bus. We only rent cars on the actual day of events when we have no other option. The rest of the time, we walk long distances and take multiple buses for flyering, planning, supplies, daily life, and caring for our dog who needs monthly shots and daily medication. This has been physically exhausting and financially draining.

Without a car, we have missed opportunities and pushed ourselves far beyond what is sustainable. We are raising funds toward a reliable used car so we can protect our health, reduce ongoing transportation costs, help our doggo sons and continue showing up for our community in the way we really want to!
