Help recent CHS grad Llandon - His Dad passed away

Donation protected
Our Collierville Cares and Collierville Tennessee Moms groups are helping out recent CHS graduate Llandon King. Llandon’s father Brad passed away on May 25th. During his last year of school, Llandon worked hard at CHS as an honors student and class president (while working two jobs to help his ailing father pay the bills!) His father didn’t want Llandon to worry, so he waited to tell his son about his terminal cancer diagnosis until days before he passed. Brad King was too sick to attend the graduation ceremony but Llandon made sure he could watch on TV. Llandon’s father was unable to care for the home, handle the financial burdens of life, or plan for his end of life wishes. There’s a lot to work through right now. When Llandon asked for help and desperately started a fund on April 30th, our community responded with kindness. He was able to assist his Dad in getting many urgent medical needs taken care of and it kept the shut-off notices at bay. That fund got them through the last month of Brad’s life.

Let’s help Llandon get his feet on the ground and work through some much-needed tasks. He needs to fix up the disrepair and plumbing problems in his home (and sort out the back taxes owed). He’d like to keep the house his father worked all his life to own. We have some experts helping with financial and legal matters. It’s a complicated world for someone who just opened his first bank account days ago. We’re hoping the college financial aid process is a big help. He’s filling out those forms soon and working to sort through a lifetime of his father’s paperwork. We’ve helped him compile a list of urgent tasks to handle and expenses. It’s A LOT to handle. We believe in him though.

He’s a responsible young man who cares deeply for his family, friends, and community. He’s always been the first to volunteer to help others! Llandon plans to attend the University of Memphis in the fall and we know he’ll work just as hard in college as he did in high school.

“On May 25th, I lost my best friend, my mentor, my guiding light, and most of all my Dad to the Great Lord Above. The Lord’s grace was able to be seen as he showed mercy and salvation to the great man that was Brad Will King. I did everything I could for that great man and I will miss him dearly every day. I would do anything to hear him tell me I love you again.

Thank you all for your help through these hard and difficult times! I’m grateful for those helping during the long road ahead. It means more than you can possibly imagine!” ~ Llandon King

Llandon (18) and his sister Miranda (23) are appreciative of the love and prayers of our community. He’s shared some photos with us from when his Dad was healthy as they celebrated Miranda’s birthday and some precious father and son photos. He has special childhood memories to cherish and enjoyed such a close bond with his father.

Everyday moments of joy and good health need to be treasured because life is precious and so very fragile! Please take the time to let your friends and family know how much you love them! If you’re able to donate to help and share this fund, it’s a wonderful blessing for a young man who can use the support of our community. God bless!
