HELP LENNY WALK AGAIN AFTER FREAK ACCIDENT

In November 2022, I developed Cauda Equina syndrome (a break in nerve roots, which provides the ability to move and feel sensation in the legs and the bladder/bowels etc.) because of a fall in the shower onto the sliding door metal rail that left me with 3 herniated disks and 3 bulging disks.

I was rushed into spinal surgery to fix it on an emergency basis as Cauda equina’s nerve damage is irreparable and incontinence is a main component of the syndrome.

That first spinal surgery for my syndrome from my fall led to severe complications including Osteomyelitis (infection of the bones), which left me in the hospital for over a month. I also leaked spinal fluid and experienced pain that would leave me screaming at the top of my lungs. The infection got so bad, it ate my L4 and L5 discs away and I'll have to get reconstructive surgery after I heal from this second surgery to be able to bend/sit and walk normally.

I will be and am at home on IV drip antibiotics for a few months because the infection went into my bone marrow.

I have a long road to recovery ahead of me as I learn to stand, sit without pain, and walk without a walker or assistive device etc, I am disabled during which time I will be unable to work. I am asking for your support to help me cover my extensive medical costs, costs associated with taking care of hired caregivers, and my physical therapy costs which will enable me to walk again and live the life I once had.

This is so important to me because as a photographer, I need to be able to move, bend, sit, and walk quickly. This leaves me with no income and I’m unable to receive unemployment or disability insurance.

I don’t have anyone assisting me in my physical recovery at the moment. I am on this journey by myself and don’t know how I’ll get by without some help.
