Nikita & Keon

To everyone who may not yet have heard the news, our dear love one, Nikita Pope, died following a tragic accident around 3:30 a.m. on 02/03/2018. Nikita was crossing the northbound lanes of U.S. 441 at the intersection of Piedmont Wekiwa and Hiawassee roads in Apopka Florida when she was stuck by a car traveling through the intersection. She had just finished her shift at McDonalds around 1 a.m. and instead of waking up family or friends, she did something she often do, and that is to walk the 5 miles to get to her home and her young son, Keon (age 7). The driver of the car did not stop to render help or to offer assistance to police. She was later located and arrested with failure to stop at a crash involving death.

Funeral plans are still being arranged, and any updates regarding locations and times will be posted here.

As you are all aware, Nikita is a single mom and loving mother to Keon. She tells everyone she meets that Keon is her reason for living and she would gladly give her life for him. Keon has not fully come to understand what has happen to his mom but the family is slowly working with him. What has happened is beyond comprehension and we are all still in shock. Understandably the family is struggling to cope, so I am stepping in to help with organizing Kita’s Funeral expenses.

We have already had numerous emails, texts and messages from people asking how to help, so this campaign has been created as a way to keep everyone up-to-date with plans, and also offer a place for messages and donations to be left.  Your donations will help cover the cost of her funeral and the care of her son (Keon).
