On Wednesday, 11/5/2025, I underwent major surgery to clear a nearly fully blocked abdominal aortic artery. My vascular surgeon was stumped, as this is not a common occurrence in people my age—37. Normally, it's people 20+ years older than I. It could be hereditary, which is more than likely. The blockage was sent to be tested, and I'm now working with Hematology and my Vascular Surgeons to hopefully identify the cause. Currently I am healing with a 5-6 inch incision just above my belly button to below my stomach. I have a small clot in my jugular vein and in my right forearm. I'm currently taking a blood thinner to manage clots. The use of my abdominal muscles has been the biggest struggle so far. Currently, I am unable to drive or lift anything over 5- 10lbs. My follow up appointments are set for December 1st.

As a person that has always wanted to help and contribute in some way, I'm finding it difficult to not be able to "pull my weight," so to speak.

I am here just asking for a helping hand to cover the costs of living since I will be unable to work, but will heal too soon for SSI Disability—which requires 12+ months of inability—and as a self-employed worker, temporary disability is only available if I purchased the coverage.

I'm hoping to be able to return to work in January. It's going to be a very tight holiday season, and we would benefit greatly from any help recieved.
