Keep My Sister Healthy at Home
Donation protected
My sister, Kamryn, is a type 1 diabetic with several autoimmune conditions. She has to go to the hospital because she is threatened with falling into a diabetic coma every time she gets sick.
While at the hospital, she has her blood sugars and ketone levels balanced, then is sent home. However, she is usually still sick and has to go back a day or two later. Hospital policy dictates that, when a child is readmitted for the same illness in a short period of time, Child Protective Services is called. This has been going on for seven years.
CPS is now threatening to take my sister out of my family's care, which would do nothing for the real problem at hand. Kamryn is a very unique and delicate case, medically. Treating her like a normal T1 diabetic would leave her in a coma or worse.
What we need is help paying for the lawyers while we fight to keep my sister. We have an official day in court scheduled, which will help us set a legal precedent to get Kamryn the medical help she needs.
My mother is a small business owner in the heart of Puyallup. The stress and work to keep my sister safe and at home is threatening her livelihood. Any donations you could give would be greatly appreciated. We are humbled by your generosity.
